Selangor PKR wants an explanation from Selangor Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim over his removal of the party's state chief Azmin Ali from the Selangor State Development Corporation's (PKNS) board of directors.

Selangor PKR secretary Amirudin Shari ( left ) said  Khalid's decision was made without input from the party despite the PKR congress in October last year having decided that the party must be consulted on all political appointments.

"We want to know if the (party) headquarters president was informed (about the decision)," Amirudin told reporters after a three-hour meeting at the PKR headquarters in Petaling Jaya last night.

Azmin, who was present at the meeting, declined to comment and merely waved goodbye to journalists as he left.

Malaysiakini on Jan 11 reported that Azmin was dropped as a member of the PKNS board of directors by Khalid against the advice of the state legal adviser and PKNS.

Azmin confirmed that he was dropped on the same day.

Amirudin said the state PKR leadership also wants an explanation on the takeover of water infrastructure in Selangor by the federal government, as well as the increase in business licences in the state.

When contacted today, Amirudin said the PKR political bureau meeting will be held tomorrow night but he was not certain whether Azmin's removal will be discussed.

"I'm not sure whether the matter of Azmin and PKNS will be raised but it is the norm to raise any outstanding issue during political bureau meetings," he noted.
