YOURSAY 'Globally, leaders are finding ways for their countries to survive, to grow and to compete. In Malaysia, our leaders are busy finding ways to divide the people.'
Zahid: I've evidence against 'Shiite' PAS No 2
KB Menon: What is this nation descending into? Finding enemies everywhere and in everything. It might want to consider breaking off diplomatic relations with Shiite practising countries. Or them with us.
Does Home Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi consider that the Shiite witch-hunt would be considered insulting to those Shiite nations? What a joke this nation is becoming.
Ferdtan: First PAS No 2 Mohamad Sabu was accused in Umno's mouthpiece, Utusan Malaysia, which insinuated that he was a communist supporter.
Now he is accused by the home minister to be an allegedly follower of Shiite teachings. Since both accusations came from Umno in various channels; one from the government news media and the other by Umno vice-president Zahid, don't you think it is stupid that a Muslim, whatever sect he may belong, is an atheist communist?
Using the famous quotation from Martin Niemöller, a German pastor and theologian, I paraphrase it for the Umno's ‘crackdown' on the Malaysian Islamic minority sect - the Shiites.
"First they came for the Indians, and I didn't speak out because I wasn't an Indian. Then they came for the Chinese and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Chinese. Then they came for the Christians and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Christian.
"Then they came for the Shiites and I didn't speak out because I am not a Shiite. Then they came for me, and there was no one left to speak for me."
So who is Umno's next bogeyman?
Louis: Zahid, you are no gentleman in making such a vague statement. If you are so sure that someone is a Shiite, state in uncertain terms who that person is. No use saying this number two or that number two is a Shiite or communist.
Do you know how many number twos are there. One can be number two in a state party and there are so many states and so many parties.
As it is, there is no use reading into your statement which can be disputed, and Umno leaders are very fond of denying it in court of law.
Go prepare a very direct statement showing very clearly who is the Shiite in question, and be prepared to face him in court. Otherwise, please shut up.
CQ Muar: Zahid, your words are just as empty as your brain. You're known for your threats, accusations and finger-pointing but short of follow-up actions.
If you reckon you've got evidence, then why no action? Don't just lash out with your mouth - go right ahead if you have the guts as we want to see how bold you can be following your publicity stunts that Mat Sabu is what you claimed.
Ever since you assumed duty as home minister, you virtually contributed nothing beneficial to the country except baseless and preposterous remarks and allegations.
The alma mater where you pursued or received your tertiary education must feel ashamed of product of your kind, Zahid.
Furthermore, the majority of this country felt disgusted and abhorred with this dimwit of a minister.
Multi Racial: As expected, unable to develop the country so come with excuses to divert attention.
Globally, leaders are finding ways for their countries to survive, to grow and to compete. In Malaysia, our leaders are busy finding ways to divide the people.
First they divide Muslims and non-Muslims. Now they want to divide Muslims Sunnis and Shiites. In this country, the meaning of freedom of religion means you believe what they want you to believe. Any other than that is a security problem.
Thefts, robberies, rapes to them are not security problems, they are merely KPIs (key performance indicators) than can be doctored to look good.
Boonpou: Since when did Malaysia get itself involved in this Shiite and Sunni divide?
One would have thought Malaysia is not the Middle East, away from the United States-manufactured Shiites versus Sunnis division that had tarred the region for so long.
What are these idiotic Umnoputeras getting into? Can Umno ever elect into their leadership folk that are not stupid?
It seems almost impossible these days. Except for Khairy Jamaluddin, and a few others (I like to believe there are a few others), the rest of the Umnoputeras are nothing short of idiots, even morons.
Seriously, it is no wonder Malaysia has been doing so badly in the international scene for decades.
Talented individuals from all ethnic and religious persuasions were discouraged, if not barred from being the country's representatives, only to be filled with such idiots. I am so sick of this country.
