YOURSAY ‘If Umno is not around where will you be, Najib? So, remember the majority of the poor Malays and the other races who have been keeping Umno intact.'
Najib to Malays: Where would you be without Umno?
Ferdtan: "Without Umno, where would we be?" "To Allah we plead, don't let the Malays disappear in the world, to Allah we plead for help," Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak cried. This is sheer arrogance and stupidity for anyone who made this call. Najib, in truth it should be "Without Malays, where would Umno be?"
However, there are better alternatives for them to be at. Malaysia is made up of majority Malays, who will not go away just because Umno disappears. Many Malays are in PAS, PKR and even a few in DAP; only Umno Malays may disappear. Yes, one-race party, Umno is Malay but Malay does not equate to Umno.
Good try, but the educated Malays, especially the youths, are not so gullible nowadays with information gained from alternative news on the Internet. Some of the old Malays born pre-Merdeka may still be nostalgic about Umno when the party really stood for something. The law of probability: "What goes up, and for so long, has to come down." For Umno or BN, it is a question of time - when?
RM40Million: If Umno is not around where will you be Najib? So, remember the majority of the poor Malays and the other races who have been keeping Umno intact. Since you are the prime minister of this population, protect all races of this population from being victimised by the rich Malaysians, including yourself.
Not Confused: Najib, the short answer to your question is: Malays would be totally self-sufficient, dynamic, entrepreneurial, with a per capita income equal to that of Singaporeans. You and your band of thieves continue to denigrate your brethren by continuously brainwashing them into thinking that they are inferior and owe their very existence to Umno.
At 66 percent of the total population of Malaysia, Malays can never be sidelined in the way you portray. By continuously maintaining that they would be nothing without Umno is patronising beyond belief and likening them to brainless sheep who will always need support from Umno and can never survive on their own.
If the majority of Malays believe this (and I don't for one minute accept that), then they are doomed to remain in Umno's feudal mentality forever, since after 50 years, they still need support.
KDP: The Malays have been around before Umno and shall continue long after Umno. Please don't champion a party that was sponsored by the British who suppressed genuine champions from the Malay left. Malay culture, kingdoms and history were well-established long before Umno was conceived.
Quigonbond: It's an excellent rhetorical question from Najib. Without Umno, Malays will all be practising meritocracy now, not living off artificial crutches. And pro-rata wealth will be better distributed that Malays will easily form the crux of the middle class in Malaysia right now, with better incomes.
Justice Pao: Without Umno, Malays will be competing with the elite of the country and the world and have achieved many milestones for their race and religion instead of depending on the gravy train and spoon feeding. Malays will outshine those from Singapore, and people from Taiwan and South Korea as these countries were very far behind Malaysia before Umno governed Malaysia.
Malays will be standing tall with others and feeling proud that they have got everything with their own sweat and tears. Without Umno, Malays will not be walking around in crutches waiting for government handouts.
Without Umno, the Umnoputras and their cronies will not be where they are and those that rob the rakyat and the country will be rotting in jail - this is actually what Najib meant when he was addressing only those in Umno.
World citizen:
Well, at least the majority race is wearing the favourite colour of the Chinese. That's a start I suppose, to be grateful for small mercies.
Mr KJ John:
Bro, you forget that you are also BN chairperson; so, please do not speak with a forked tongue.Mob1900: Without Umno, this whole nation would be the dream nation where everyone aspires. Without Umno, the Malays would have learnt, risen and would have been led by example, which other countries would envy. Instead, we're just a backwater country now, with high taxes surviving on oil and scraps tossed by a dim-witted regime using force and fear.
Old timer:
Oh, What a racist leader of a nation. Maybe he is not the PM of Malaysia, but PM of the Malays, enjoying the taxes paid by non-Malays. Can Malaysia become a developed country? Your guess is as good as mine. Corruption index is high, education index is low, crime index is high, inflation is high, and taxes, etc, are rising.Anonymous #70881335: It is always about protecting Malay rights and their privileges. Nothing new to add. How about standing on your own two feet, less handouts, and more rewards for work well done? Always gimme, gimme and more gimme. Teach the Malays to stand tall, no need of special assistance and favours and being proud of your achievements. Teach them how to fish.
Shamu99: Honestly, without Umno there would have been better racial intergration. The economic wealth would have been distributed better to more Malaysians, especially to the majority Malay race. The constitution would have guided the leaders, unlike deviation by Umno.
Sabahan: Without Umno, Malaysia will be a developed nation, easily surpassing Singapore, which has no natural resources and has benefitted from talented and smart Malaysians who have migrated there.
Without Umno, the Malays, especially in the rural area will have a higher standard of living and have access to first class facilities, education and infrastructure. Without Umno, the other races will be living in harmony and happiness, without the evils of corruption, cronyism and poor governance.
Sakit hati ku: Correct your historic wrongs Mr PM, and stop blowing hot air. It is more appropriate if you said, "Where will Malaysia be, without the contribution and hard work from the Chinese and Indians for the development of a prosperous Malaysia?"
Anonymous #05023297:
Ha! Musuh di bawah selimut (wolf in sheep's clothing). With one hand pointing and blaming the non-bumiputeras while the other steals from their own. This is a real champion.
