We know what you did in the last delineation

YOURSAY 'Constituency redelineation was done not to preserve Malay power. It was done to preserve Umno power.'

EC denies redelineation to preserve Malay power

your say, Yoursay Not Confused: EC chairperson Abdul Aziz Abdul Yusuf, do you really think that anyone is taking anything you, or your Umno card-carrying colleagues, say seriously?

The entire nation will be watching you in the upcoming constituency boundary delineation exercise.

We will ensure that the current illegal imbalance in voters between different constituencies is corrected before GE14.

We will ensure that your master, PM Najib Abdul Razak, will have many sleepless nights leading up to GE14 since he will be forced to compete on an almost level-playing field for once.

Onyourtoes: Yes we agree, constituency re-delineation was done not to preserve Malay power. It was done to preserve Umno power.

Frankly, there is no need for former Election Commission (EC) chief Abdul Rashid Abdul Rahman to admit this and for the present EC to deny it.

Yes of course, it was done "properly and legally", especially when the original provisions of the constitution governing re-delineation and election were amended beyond recognition.

Dark Archon: What are the chances of a thief admitting that he/she is a thief? That he/she actually stole something? It's rare, isn't it?

So, what makes anyone with a sound mind would think or believe that the current EC will admit that they carry out their "re-delineation" exercise while in reality it's gerrymandering ?

Greed drives the human heart which leads to Umno-BN going all out to preserve its grip on power. Unless these BN leaders have a change of heart, the chances of seeing EC play fair is basically none.

Ketuanan Rakyat: EC chief, Malaysians are not so stupid to believe you. Stop pretending. We know that you are an Umnoputra agent doing their bidding to subvert democracy to keep the utterly corrupted Umno in power indefinitely.

It is now common knowledge that Umnoputras will retain power even if less than 30 percent voters were to support them. That is 1Malaysia with endless possibilities, Najib-style.

MyFoot: If Malay is Umno, then what are Malays in PAS and PKR or even in DAP? Maybe Umno does not consider them Malays.

Joker: Just looking at the Putrajaya constituency will tell you if EC is being fair or not.

Unless the EC is prepared to say that Putrajaya is an ulu (backward) hinterland with such terrible infrastructure that justifies having such a small voter base, and that Kapar is so densely populated and so well developed to justify a voter base that is 17 times the size of Putrajaya, there is no way EC can say it is following the constitution in its re-delineation exercises.

They can say what they want, but the proof is there for all to see.

Wira: Malay power is always preserved because of their overwhelming majority in Malaysia. What the EC did was to preserve the corrupt in power and to keep the honest and progressive Malays from power.

Thana55: For all those who are still not sure of who actually won GE13, it is an undisputable fact that Pakatan bagged 51% of the popular votes, while Umno-BN, 47%.

If it was not for the 'cheating' via MSM (mainstream media), goodies, gerrymandering, etc, BN vote would be another 5% lower. Clearly, a resounding victory for Pakatan.

Anonymous_4056: Denial syndrome is the SOP (standard operating procedure) of the Umno ruling government. Winning only 47 percent of the popular vote is enough for Umno to take Putrajaya.

It is certainly a minority government of the day. Just this one result tells how much gerrymandering can do for Umno. Umno would certainly not hesitate to do it again.

Odin: Since well before the GE13 was conducted, Abdul Aziz has shown himself to be an exemplarily upright person, one from whose lips not even a white lie has ever emanated, and therefore, every statement of his is the gospel truth.

Whatsup: The graph above infuriates me every time I see it - a damn shameful act against the rakyat. This traitor has never abide by the Federal Constitution.

Let's see what rubbish he will generate for this coming re-delineation exercise. Money blinds his conscience, integrity and religious teaching.

Shame on him, his family and friends who stand idly by enjoying his ill-gotten gains.

Fair Play: This time around, EC has better be careful. After the disclosure by former EC chief Abdul Rashid, all eyes of the rakyat as well as NGOs such as electoral reform movement Bersih and the opposition are trained on them.
