Onyourtoes: Ikatan Muslimin Malaysia (Isma), good governance is not wishful thinking. Yes, fearing God, compassion and ethics are important.

But we need checks and balances, controlling, monitoring, reporting and transparency to "compel" ethical behaviour and good governance, got it? Do we have all these in place?

Who approved the use of executive jet by the PM's wife Rosmah Mansor? Was she entitled to it? Where are all the checks and balances, controlling, monitoring and reporting?

Mushiro: The treason list committed by Najib Abdul Razak and BN is too long.

These include corruption, yearly leakages as reported by the auditor-general, cronyism only to favoured Malays, misrule, cheating by the Election Commission (EC), issuing of illegal identity cards, closing an eye for the Sulus to come in, losing Pulau Batu Puteh, unleashing gangsters to disturb campaigns, allowing crime to flourish, all the mega spendings, allowing Umno crooks like Wanita chief Shahrizat Abdul Jalil to go free, pulling out welfare funds to the poor, blatantly increasing prices immediately after the general election, not taking action against obvious corruption, etc.

It will be commendable if Isma speaks out without fear or favour.

Bamboo: The cause of overspending - bloated civil service, wastage and leakages, inflated priced contracts, outsourcing of work by hiring consultants, soft loans which are written off and bailing out of failed government-linked companies (GLCs).

Government expenditure is the cash cow for many besides their legitimate incomes. If these are not curbed, no amount of tax raising will be able to plug this bottomless hole. If they are God fearing, they won't put their hands into the cookie jar and call it ‘rezeki'.

Bystander: Isma president Abdullah Zaik Abd Rahman, you are absolutely right to say "Wisdom does not merely involve the technicalities of management, but also ethics and compassion", but then again, do those people have any?

NoBN4me: Mr PM, do not choose to point your finger only at the rakyat. We have a long list of what your government did which could be considered acts of treason. But of course, action is your discretion.

Exhorting taxpayers to be patriotic will only work if government leaders, civil servants and those who manage the country's economy show by example by not practising corruption, wastage and cronyism.

Onyourtoes: Goodness me, Rafizi. It is not just sugar. It is every damn essential commodity and product - flour, rice, cabbage, beef, plastic resin, steel, cement, cars, you name it. These are the raison d'etre of Umno.

Bad Head: Dear PM, when you use the rakyat's money to buy sugar (or any other things) at a higher price than the market value so as to benefit some, it is also treason.
