YOURSAY 'Ibrahim Ali and his cohorts are doing an exercise in futility. No matter how he tries to dress up Perkasa a spade by any other name is still a spade.'
Rocky start for Perkasa's new interracial council
Odin: When the news came out about Perkasa chief Ibrahim Ali's unbelievable interracial plan , I thought it was some kind of a macabre joke.
It seems I may be right. What has got into the heads of those in the top echelons of the New Indian Welfare and Charity Association (Perinbam) and New Era Chinese Association to have agreed to be party to such an association?
Trusting Ibrahim to do what he has claimed he planned to do is like believing Hitler wanting to form a scripture learning club with the Jews so that the Nazis would be able to know the latter better.
Astounded: This is an attempt by Perkasa to form a ‘BN' of NGOs and making itself an equivalent of Umno. Ibrahim Ali and his cohorts are doing an exercise in futility. No matter how he tries to dress up Perkasa a spade by any other name is still a spade.
Perkasa is a racist organisation and is akin to the Ku Klux Klan. No amount of dressing up and affiliation with other parties is able to hide the fact.
TehTarik: In Nazi Germany, the Jews were made the scapegoat for the economic suffering of the majority race.
What was initially a myth, gradually grew into an unshakable belief. This was a result of years of brainwashing through repeated lies by the Nazis. As one of their key proponents argued, a lie repeated many times will become the 'truth'.
The real reason for the economic hardship was the half century of faulty policies by the majority. Initially, the Jews were restricted from the public sector. Later, this was extended to the universities. Soon there was selective persecution with the law siding the majority.
There was little empathy or sensitivity for the feelings of the Jews. In many instances, unfair and discriminative rulings against the Jews were justified on the basis that the minority Jews were going to take over the economic and political power of Germany. And that the majority would become a slave of the Jews.
Amongst the Nazis, there was no place for moral or rational argument. History appears to be repeating itself.
Sali Tambap: Ibrahim asked all parties to "tolerate" one another and avoid any "misunderstanding", but on his term. Really.
The other parties should tolerate his rant about the ‘Ketuanan Melayu' and others are second-class citizens not worthy to be accorded even the freedom to express their own belief and religions.
Lionking: It's only in our beloved country where every issue is given a racial or religious overtones. This is really sad as issues should be resolved amicably without taking into account religion or race.
This must be due to the indoctrination of such ideas in the last 30 years.
Ipohcrite: Well, Perkasa vice-president Zulkifli Noordin is supportive of the beleaguered headmaster, because in his opinion, the poor fellow did a very noble thing.
He found a place for the non-Muslim children to eat, out of sight of fasting Muslims. Never mind that it was in the shower room. At least they could eat. Why can't the non-Muslims appreciate that?
Anonymous #40538199: Is there a shower room in Perkasa's interracial club?
Perkasa: Interracial grouping is proof we're not racist
LTM: Let's see Ibrahim Ali championing the plight of the poor, stateless Indians and speak up for the rights of our Christian citizens in East Malaysia to worship God in Bahasa Malaysia or help alleviate the poverty of the Orang Asli.
Let see this new interracial group speak up for all Malaysians irrespective of race. Just forming a group means nothing. Action speaks louder than words.
Already Perkasa's VP is antagonising the Indians at its inaugural meeting. Will anything change?
JustAMalaysian: One swallow does not a summer make. I wonder if Ibrahim Ali can really contain his racist emotions and stop talking nonsense.
If he can say the right things for just one month without causing much controversy, then, only then, maybe the summer is forthcoming.
Better My: Really, Perkasa turning the corner? First apologise a thousands times for the extreme racism uttered by its leaders, plus show remorse.
Astounded: "Before they (NGOs) met me, they were also angry with me (due to perception). But when they met me, they fell in love with me in five minutes," Ibrahim said.
I will have to stop laughing soon otherwise I will die! Who does this guy think he is? He is so full of himself. Umno does not need Perkasa anymore. Some of its ministers are as openly racist as Perkasa.
KehKehKeh: Love at first sight? They must be blind.
