DPM threatens Kuala Besut with talk of instability

YOURSAY ‘What stability is there if Umno and Barisan Nasional provide the only candidates that people can depend on?'

Back BN as easiest way to avoid instability, says DPM

your say Ksn: Is Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin saying that there will be instability under PAS?

PAS has ruled Kelantan for many years. Has there been instability in Kelantan? Has there been instability in Selangor, Penang, etc?

Has not this charade about stability under Umno and instability under the opposition gone on for far too long?

Remember DPM, Umno has got only 30 percent of the popular votes. What does that tell you? The people, the voters, do not buy this sort of talk anymore.

Why don't you talk about the eradication of corruption and poverty, the competency of BN politicians, and their integrity and capacity to contribute to nation building?

Why don't you talk about combatting racism and religious extremism, as well as the abuse of public funds? Why don't you talk about getting rid of awarding contracts to cronies and family members?

But then those are sensitive topics for Umno.

Simplecitizen: "If not, there will be other effects that I do dare not speak of on the state constitution, position of the monarch, political stability, the possibility of fresh elections and people coming out (to vote) again," said Muhyiddin.

Words of a coward, fearful that the end is nigh. Despite the promises of a clean campaign, Umno will continue to sling mud as it's in their nature to do that.

Even his speech incites illogical fear.

Cry Wolf: DPM, don't threaten the Kuala Besut voters. Conduct a clean and fair by-election, not a ‘buy election'. Ensure there are no handouts to voters and no cheating during vote count and we'll see whether you have the support of the electorate there.

Thinkingmachine: This election will be a good indicator, whether the rakyat want to opt for Pakatan Rakyat or BN. Whatever it is, let the rakyat make their decision and let's move on.

It is the holy month of Ramadan so let's hope that both sides talk about issues and do not speak ill of anyone.

Chee Hoe Siew: What stability is there if Umno and BN provide the only available candidates that people can depend on?

When it fails, like now, at least we are glad that the opposition camp is strong enough to govern (as shown by their performance as state governments). This should be the definition of stability.

Apapunboleh: Kuala Besut has been under BN for almost 50 years but the villagers are still poor. Getting dole from BN once is a while and expecting to show gratitude, is this the kind of stability DPM is talking about?

Anonymous_40f4: The people in Kuala Besut live in poverty inspite of being an oil-producing state. Where did all the money go?

TheSilentMajority: Yes, that is BN's answer to everything. Do the easiest thing and not the right thing. Any leader worth one sen would ask the voters to make the 'right' choice and not the easy one, and respect their right to chose.

Bumiasli: What is so stable about BN, please may we know? Your performance stinks and your political agendas carry messages of disaster for the future generation. So what is this big talk about voting for you?

Anonymous_3e86: "He (Umno candidate BN candidate Tengku Zaihan Che Ku Abdul Rahman) does not know things like cronism and nepotism yet, so he is brand new and fresh. You can see it in his face," said Muhyiddin.

Well said. This only implies that those BN veterans practise cronyism and nepotism and are corrupt to the core. The longer they are in BN, the more corrupt they supposedly are.

Iamleavingbutdecidedtostay: How true. Knowing things like cronyism and nepotism yet is the curse of Umno. Soon this innocence is going to be taken away from him.

Anak, Bangsa, Malaysia: Tengku Zaihan is seen fresh and young but not Muhyiddin and the Umno goons. So back to status quo.

PAS must be given the chance this time around so their ‘16:16 New Terengannu' campaign is good and maybe there may be another round of state elections.

Jaded: Avoid the instability so the ruling government can continue to rob the people?

Whatsup: Mr DPM, yes, you are right. If voters choose Pakatan Rakyat, Umno will unleash its power to punish them. But you forget one thing, Mr DPM, most voters, by the latest estimate (not only 51 percent of GE13 voters) no longer fear Umno samsengs.

And stop talking about one's ustaz credential or other religious or academic ones, when all are blind to Umno's violence, lies, fraud, insatiable greed, racism, criminal activities, betrayal and blasphemous actions.

P Dev Anand Pillai: The group here doesn't look really that confident and gung-ho about victory. Why the sad and sulky faces? Doesn't the usual 'pyrotechnics' with money work?

Choo Chor Tek: Why should there be instability? What is the DPM trying to suggest? Vote BN for continued corruption?

Caller: In this holy month of Ramadan, we dare you Umno to run a clean campaign without corruption.
