YOURSAY ‘Using uncouth language such as 'shit stirrers' in this bulan mulia (holy month) is unbecoming of a minister.'
The opposition are 'shit stirrers', says minister
Mahashitla: Federal Territories Minister Tengku Adnan Mansor, if there is no corruption, cronyism or abuse of power, then there is no "shit" for Pakatan Rakyat to stir.
By accusing Pakatan of being a "shit stirrer", you are telling us that Umno-BN's minority government can rule in whatever way it wishes, and continue to be corrupt and abusive.
By the way, Tengku, have you sought forgiveness from the Agong for your part in the Lingam tape controversy ? Remember it's a royal commission of inquiry (RCI) and the Agong commands explanation.
Hplooi: And that is the best argument Tengku Adnan can offer? Has he forgotten the "shit" his side has offered?
Unsubstantiated porn videos, accusations of 'ungrateful Chinese' , hudud scare (for the non-Malays), threats of DAP/Christians taking over (for the Malays), criminal ad hominem against family members of the political opposition, race-baiting, etc, are just some of the "shit" BN has been stirring.
At the same time, we still do not have any answer or closure to the debilitating "leakages" - such as the Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) scandal, the National Feedlot Corporation (NFC) Cowgate scandal, and the RM7 million spent on indelible ink, etc.
Bumiasli: It's good that the minister speaks his mind. At least, we know what BN leaders are thinking when it comes to government policies and lawmaking.
By saying "shit stirrers", Tengku Adnan equated Sedition Act to "shit", because that's what we are stirring. So is it not right to stir such ‘shit' to prevent future ‘shit' from being brought in by morons from BN?
Kingfisher: Better to stir "shit" to filter the scum than to renegade on fundamental freedom and compromise the esteem of the judicial system.
Doc: Is Tengku Adnan also implying that 51.6 percent of the Malaysia population who voted for the opposition are "shit stirrers" too?
And there you have it - yet another senior Umno member who has absolutely no decorum, decency and most importantly, no brains.
Cala: How low can the quality of a Malaysian cabinet minister go? I am aghast by the mannerism Tengku Adnan in giving his opinion on the possible abolition of the Sedition Act.
As a leader, the rakyat would expect him to carry himself befitting a cabinet member.
The kind of comment from Tengku Adnan is a sad reflection of a typical third world minister incapable of articulating anything for the benefits of its people. Surely "liberal democracy" is good for everybody. Sedition Act must be consigned to history.
Fair And Just: Did the minister utter these words? Shame on him, if he had done so. What language, what thought, what example from such as those currently walking in the corridors of power where one asks you to migrate , another tells you to go live in the jungle because you happen to disagree with them or call on them to account for the unacceptable, unjust, corrupt actions, where one even decries meritocracy.
By the way, had the good minister the contents of the Sedition Act in mind? What an apt figure of speech.
Moontime: Why am I not surprised by his statement? Tengku Adnan is well known for his outrageous remarks and arrogant attitude. The opposition is not, as he claimed to be, "shit stirrers". Rather, they are proponents of truth and justice.
I hope politicians from both sides of the divide will respect the holy month of Ramadan and restrain themselves from uttering derogatory words with malicious intent. I know BN representatives will find it hard to do that. One fine example is this man. Enough said.
Katusha: Even when the "shit" of Umno has been stirred up, no action whatsoever will or has been taken. The "shit" exposed will be let to lie down in the hope that people will forget about it.
Case in point, the recommendations of the RCI on the VK Lingam judge-fixing episode where Tengku Adnan was supposedly involved.
Not Confused: Now doesn't that say it all? This from a senior government minister. Mr FT minister, I think it's about time you take a sabbatical and go to a quiet room and learn some facts about democracy.
Questioning the incumbent government and weeding out facts from the masses of equally rabid comments is the job of an intelligent opposition.
Asking probing questions on matters of public interest is also part and parcel of an opposition's job, not to just play poodle and ignore the wrongs being perpetrated in the name of the rakyat.
If you cannot answer such questioning without making inane comments like this, then it is time to move on by resigning and doing something more in line with your tiny brain capacity.
AnakBangsaMalaysia: Tengku Adnan's own statement is effectively an admission that BN is in such deep "shit" of its own making that it fears anyone who can expose the fact - ergo, the so-called "shit-stirrers" from Pakatan and civil society.
Rest assured, we will keep stirring these things and exposing the corruption and crimes of Umno and BN.
Joe Friday: Using uncouth language such as "shit stirrers" in this bulan mulia (holy month) is unbecoming of a minister.
Mahashitla: Tengku, you are MP for Putrajaya, the seat of government, and secretary-general of Umno, the biggest political party in Malaysia, but you have lowered your dignity to use such base words as "shit-stirrers".
Malaysia is a democratic country and it needs checks and balances. Who but the opposition has to do the job as Umno-BN has let the rakyat down, especially the poor bumiputeras after 56 years in power.
Please talk with decorum and reasons, otherwise Malaysiakini and other alternative media may be branded the same by you. Please remember that Umno do not own this country, or the Malays or even the monarchy.
Anonymous_251d: If BN had done its job efficiently, transparently and morally, there won't be any "shit" to stir.
CAT Lover: More unavoidable evidence of the Political Stone Age as it exists in Malaysia.
By 2020, a museum of Absurd Political Conservatism and Opportunism will have been erected to hail wax versions of Tengku Adnan and his like. It'll be the place where people go to have a laugh.
