Ahmad Zahid riled up over 'assault' claim
FellowMalaysian: Whether it is a criminal or civil case, Home Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who is entrusted with the duty to protect the safety and security of every Malaysian, has become the butt of jokes since he was sued in court for assault and battery.
Being an irascible person as he is known to be, Puchong MP Gobind Singh Deo drew Zahid's testy reaction even before he could expose the minister's raw nerve.
A home minister who has a serious problem controlling his emotions and flares up at the slightest provocation in Parliament simply tells us that Zahid just isn't cut out to be an MP.
Anonymous_ABG: MP Gobind wanted information regarding a bodily assault against a helpless person. It's a criminal action which could have ended in loss of life.
What is so difficult to answer a matter in which Zahid was directly involved?
I believe the element of kidnapping was also involved and the whole episode comes under the serious crime category, and yet no action was taken by the police.
Umno must understand Parliament is not a sanctuary for thieves, pirates and criminals.
Hello, Minister Ahmad Zahid, if you are a leader of standing coming from a respectable family, you will answer the point raised by Gobind.
OMG!!: If the assault was committed by an ordinary citizen, he/she would have been behind bars already.
Ipohcrite: No one is above the law, including Zahid. If he thinks the Umno umbrella can protect him for forever, he is sadly mistaken.
Slowly but surely, the noose of justice is tightening around his neck. Make no mistake about that. He is already choking as we speak.
FairGame: Zahid, the question regarding the lack of police action in your assault case is not just Gobind's personal interest alone. It is also of interest to the whole nation as you are now the home minister in charge of the police force.
Odin: Gobind should have asked Zahid to explain why his former ministry paid some RM600,000 for each Rapid Intervention Vehicles it acquired, although HRH the Sultan of Johor paid only around RM150,000 for his.
And what was Tanjong Karang MP Noh Omar doing in Parliament? He practically stole state land to farm prawns because, according to he himself, he wanted to experience the life of a farmer.
His claim of wishing to experience such a life is, of course, all bullshit - prawn shit is more accurate - or else why was he there, inside that supposedly august house?
Clever Voter: The country is in desperate need of leaders who have the courage to speak up, and stand for the right values of integrity and respect for one another. Thankfully, there are still a few - Gobind is one of them.
Versey: Didn't our PM do some 'homework' to check on the track record of potential candidate before recruiting them into the cabinet?
Think of it, the assault took place in 2006 when Zahid was a deputy minister, later he was appointed to be defence minister prior to the present home minister's post.
Is there no better candidate than him that the PM can find among the Umno YBs? The thought of it sends a shiver down my spine.
Fourtan: Go, Gobind! Stand up to these thug MPs.
SS Dhaliwal: Zahid, if merely asking a salient and pertinent question can get you agitated and riled up, what if someone insults you outside Parliament.
We know the answer to that as the businessman whom you and your bodyguards assaulted can testify and attest to your anger management issues and criminal behaviour.
I think you may have missed your calling as you would have been right at home being a mafia boss.
Anonymous$&@?: We have a ‘kaki pukul' as home minister, no wonder we have the sixth most dangerous city in the world.
Abasir: Umno is desperately scrapping the bottom of the barrel for talent. Just see what they have come up with:
Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim (best known as the cheerleader for mat rempits and the ring leader of a hair-brained misadventure to Israel put in charge of the multi-billion ringgit Tabung Haji.
Zahid 'Migrate Lah' Hamidi, a fellow facing a civil suit for a bloody assault on an individual held down by his friends, as 'home' minister.
An ex-meter reader sitting in as deputy PM, linguistically challenged judges who have occasional difficulty with singular and plural, and ministers with 'instant three-in-one degrees'.
When Dr Mahathir Mohamad loudly reminisced about his 'half-past six cabinet' not too long ago and more recently about how meritocracy is so unjust and racist, Malaysians should have caught on to the fact that the worst is yet to come.
MatrixLYN: The home minister has an excellent resume for the job. He allegedly whacked innocent people and got away with it.
Isn't that's what police at Bersih rallies do? So he's very qualified for the job.
