YOURSAY 'Just because Umno employs cybertroopers, it cannot assume all those supporting Pakatan Rakyat have to be paid, too.'
Gov't has not identified Red Bean Army, admits ministry
Siang Malam : Deputy Communications and Multimedia Minister Jailani Johari, if the Red Bean Army has not been positively identified, how come the ministry has allocated RM350 million to fight the illusory Red Bean Army?
Odin: Jailani Johari, it was weeks ago that your party alleged the existence of the Red Bean Army. However, even now you have not been able to finger even a low-ranking operative in this army.
Don't forget you have the entire government machinery and Umno-sympathetic hackers at your disposal. Your seeming failure only means either your resources are totally hopeless or you all have simply cooked up the existence of the said army.
I put it to you that the former is simply unbelievable and, therefore, the latter applies.
Keropok Lekor: Just because Umno employs cybertroopers, it cannot assume all those supporting Pakatan Rakyat have to be paid, too.
BN pays people to attend their rallies, but Pakatan rallies offer no money and instead people give donations.
Anonymous #02382443: Dear MPs, we voted you into Parliament to improve the status of this country. Please don't waste your time and our money for witch-hunts and pursuing frivolous and petty matters.
Unless you have concrete and substantial matters which are relevant, please keep such discussions to your neighbourhood coffee shop. Continue to show your conceit, and we will boot you out soonest possible.
Onyourtoes: You still can't find the Red Bean Army? Where are they hiding? No problem, set up a royal commission of inquiry (RCI) and you will find them soon enough.
Storm: Umno, nobody - and I mean nobody - with half a brain will believe that DAP has that ‘red bean army' thing and the huge fund to support it. On the other hand, everybody knows Umno has an enormous slush fund, so quit being so damn stupid.
For example, you should not pursue the A Kugan case in court. Indeed, you have really upset ordinary people like us by appealing the High Court decision. Instead, go catch real criminals, and there are many of them.
Do something decent for a change, instead of speaking with a forked tongue and being so racist.
Cala: Is it a case of pretending to be stupid, ignorant, and oxymoronic? Given the amount of resources at its disposal, I am not convinced that these leaders are so dumb that they believe DAP is funding the alleged Red Bean Army.
A rudimentary knowledge in sociology will tell us that a structural-functionalist (being the beneficiary of the existing system) will see to the continuation of the system for his own benefit, while the supporter of conflict theory is naturally inclined to show his grievances and hopes to change the system.
How does the second group do it? He writes in alternative media, he sends SMSes, and he speaks to his like-minded friends, of course. To expect him to get paid is outrageous.
These fellows should view the second group in positive light - that they are contributing to nation-building by creating a much-needed social capital (to highlight the social ills, corrupt practices and misgovernance) so that Malaysia may be spared the typical Arab Spring.
Haetch: In the future, anybody bringing up this issue in Parliament should be deemed unfit to be an MP. There are far better and more serious issues that need to be addressed.
SS Dhaliwal: There is a Red Bean Army and they are made up of housewives, doctors, lawyers, accountants, engineers, businessmen, carpenters, contractors, etc. Basically from all walks of life.
They operate from the houses, offices, factories, shops, wherever there is Internet connection. I am one of them but I, and all of the above mentioned people, are not paid by DAP.
Ipohcrite: I fully support an RCI to look into this Red Bean Army thingy and reveal the truth. Otherwise, the stupidity of BN ministers can never be authenticated in a credible manner.
Ann: Is Mr Bean also a suspect?
No Red Bean Army 'command centre' found in DAP visit
Kit P: In a way, it's true that Umno is facing a large opposition army in cyberspace, but it's not what they think it is.
It's a largely uncoordinated guerrilla army of thousands of ordinary citizens who have provided their own time and energy to exposing Umno-BN's misdeeds, abuse of power and dishonesty.
Umno just can't believe these people are purely private volunteers. To Umno, the only logical explanation is that it has to be a well-funded DAP conspiracy.
Bianca Lee: I salute YB Lim Kit Siang and other leaders in DAP for confronting the powerful BN government and Utusan Malaysia .
It is a shame that the government spend so much time and energy to come up with a concoction of lies time after time, when instead they should spend time improving public security in this country.
