YOURSAY 'Rampant cheating orchestrated through postal votes and phantom voters will neutralise Pakatan's advantage significantly.'
Najib's ratings slide, BR1M not working
Moontime: This is like the battle to end all battles, a decisive GE. The future depends on us, the voters who will decide whether we remain being governed by a corrupt, materialistic and racist regime or choose a new one, untested in governing the nation but with enough experience managing four states with admirable results.
We owe it to ourselves and our descendants to be involved in this noble cause.
Changeagent: I've said this before, and I'll say it again. Personal ratings are never the best predictor of election results. Two-party preferred ratings usually are. It doesn't matter if Najib Razak's approval rate is really 61 percent or not.
The fact remains that most other independent studies have given the Pakatan Rakyat coalition an edge in a two-party preferred basis.
But rampant cheating orchestrated through postal votes, phantom voters and large-scale money politics will neutralise Pakatan's advantage significantly, making this an extremely tough outcome to call either way.
Fernz: BN chief Najib, with 61 percent popularity, is counting his chickens before they are hatched.
Abdullah Ahmad Badawi had a 74 percent popularity rate in 2008 and yet he lost five states, Kuala Lumpur and the two-thirds majority in Parliament. Sabah and Sarawak saved him.
Najib cannot use the MOU (memorandum of understanding) with Hindraf leader P Waythamoorthy and the people's money to bribe his way back into power.
He should get beyond the "I want to make a deal with you" approach in politics: "Lu tolong gua, gua tolong lu."
It will be poetic justice for Abdullah when Najib does worse than him. Dr Mahathir Mohamad can then put his face in the nearest toilet bowl.
Magnus: Vote Pakatan Rakyat and Malaysia will be able to catch up with Singapore and other developed nations like South Korea within five to seven years, and maybe even overtake them.
So it is up to you to get all your family and friends and neighbours who are registered voters to go out and vote today to ensure you and the rakyat win, and your family's democratic future and economic power is safeguarded, respected and improved.
On a more practical note:
1. Those who have motor vehicles might wish to offer free transport to your neighbours who are less able, like the elderly, to go to the polling stations.
2. Join ABU (Anything But Umno) and offer support to their Skuad Tahan at the polling stations.
Here's a helpful quote from Mahathma Gandhi to keep in mind: "A small body of determined spirits fired by an unquenchable faith in their mission can alter the course of history."
With two days to go, Anwar is bullish on Putrajaya
Cala: To the best of my knowledge, quite a few governments (democratic, or semi-democratic) have changed hands recently in Asia and one sees the positive effects that come along (examples are Taiwan, South Korea, Indonesia and the Philippines).
As long as there is no witch-hunt, why should we reject change? On the other hand, Anwar is showing his maturity when he argued that so long as the mega thieves return their spoils, they could be left off the hook.
FellowMalaysian: For his steadfast belief in his own ability as well as his intense devotion and focus in his work, Anwar deserves a shot to be our next prime minister.
In terms of flair in business acumen and diplomatic panache, Anwar is miles ahead of Najib. The time has arrived for Anwar to lead Pakatan from Putrajaya.

PM or not, Anwar Ibrahim has won
Black Mamba: Anwar or no Anwar, Malaysians have charted a new course for themselves politically. The fears brought on by Umno-BN to scare each racial group doesn't play out anymore.
Malaysians are becoming more cohesive, thanks in great part to the pious people of PAS and the secularist DAP leaders.
The Chinese have begun to understand their Muslim fellow citizens' way of life being dictated by their religion better, and likewise the Malay Muslims understanding of the Chinese practical way of living in a largely Malay/Muslim society has improved.
The coming together of a new generation of working class voters. irrespective of race and religion, will bring down the elites and the cronies of BN this election, and that is a certainty.
Headhunter: It's true that even if assuming that Najib and his co-conspirator, the Election Commission, managed to cheat their way through to a win, politics will never be the same again in Malaysia.
Anwar has woken a sleeping giant in that Malaysians are now coming out openly to fight against a tyrannical regime bent on plundering the nation and subject its people to poverty by cheating through the ballot box using non-citizens and the EC to pervert the nation's security.
Win or lose, history will remember Anwar as a national hero who has helped steer a new course for our nation.
