YOURSAY ‘I have re-read the ‘transformation candidate' statement by Mohd Zin at least five times and I still don't believe what I am reading.'
Mohd Zin: Zul Noordin a 'transformation' candidate
Faz: This is more of an advertisement on how wrong Umno is with their skewed explanation on "transformation" by Selangor BN coordinator Mohd Zin Mohamed.
You could have chosen a better candidate to present Umno-BN but you chose Perkasa vice-president Zulkifli Noordin. What a choice. Any right-thinking Malaysian will not want a lawmaker with his track record.
Jk7462000: I have re-read the "transformation candidate" statement by Mohd Zin at least five times and I still don't believe what I am reading.
If Zulkifli wins, we really need to question ourselves - are we really a tolerant, moderate and progressive society? By all accounts, he should be decimated along with his deposit.
Haveagreatday: A frog turning into a religious extremist - that is the BN's transformation formula.
Stried: This may be BN's version of transformation, but to me, it's political suicide. Is caretaker PM Najib Abdul Razak in the business of re-election. Established political parties don't play wild cards.
Milosevic: Najib and BN are calculating that the best chances of victory are reasserting ‘Ketuanan Melayu', while telling the non-Malays that they will get a little something, every now and then.
They can't bank on their performance or on multiracialism because they have not pursued such goals - they only hint that some of this might be in the offering in the future if they are voted in.
This is a very interesting election strategy - is this desperation or a firm sense of what the Malay rakyat is deep down?
Jstom: By this very act, BN has negated its 1Malaysia slogan. Indeed, Zulkifli is anything but 1Malaysia. I hope the people of Shah Alam will vote wisely.
Bender: Shah Alam voters, please pay attention. The last time people voted Zulkifli, he cheated them big time.
If you want a liar, a racist and a religious bigot (all-in-one like those coffee or bubble jet printers that they sell at the supermarket) to represent you, then by all means vote for him.
But if you want someone with squeaky clean reputation, someone who doesn't cheat and respect people regardless of race and skin colour, then choose incumbent MP Khalid Samad.
These two candidates are so different - like heaven and earth - so to make the right choice should not be difficult. Heck, I can't believe BN would put someone like Zulkifli to go against Khalid... talk about poor decision.
Tehachapi: We now have a better understanding of what Najib was talking about when he invokes the word "transformation" - it is just to package the old ideology into a more marketable wrapping and then slap a label on it.
This is totally stupid idea. Why? The voters are smart, they can read, analyse and think hard about their choices. If Zulkifli represents the best "transformation" BN can dish out, then I think Umno cannot change.
Vijay47: The usual Umno spin notwithstanding, the party must really be scrapping the bottom of the barrel if all they can come out with is the likes of Zulkifli.
Umno can claim to be the good guy here when all they are doing is sending that miserable racist politician to total destruction. Tears, anybody?
Anak, Bangsa, Malaysia: We can accept apologies but the very fact Zulkifli had cast aspersion on Hinduism goes to show how stupid he can be and how backward thinking he is as a person.
You call this progressive? Surely not. Backward most likely.
Powerpuff: This is a political strategy, let's not lose the plot. Najib fielded him to ensure his political aspirations is dead. This is because former PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad nominated him.
A case of killing two birds with one stone. Give Mahathir what he wants, and make sure his guy don't make it into power.
Dark Knight: Is transformation also about bringing in and embracing past candidates of disrepute with a race-centric baggage? Umno has been using a divide-and-rule policy for decades now and employing race and religion to keep the masses at bay.
No wonder it wants Zulkifli to perpetuate this policy. Malaysians don't want transformation, they want change.
Mahashitla: Hindu Rights Action Force (Hindraf), please do not continue dreaming your foolish dreams. You do not belong to BN and BN does not deserve Indian support.
Ferdtan: I scrolled down the over one hundred comments in Malaysiakini but I can't find the usual Hindraf supporters commenting on this Indian/Hindu-basher Zulkifli.
What has happened to their usual coarse language - calling Pakatan's leaders "mandores"? Aren't they angry?
Why the silence? Is it because it is bad news from BN that you refrain from commenting? Now all of you show your true colour - blue as in BN flag.
Rayfire: Najib, this will go on record as the biggest blunder ever made in the history of Malaysian politics. Transformation candidate? Yeah right!
He will help transform Bolehland into Bigotland. It looks like BN is also not keen on offering good candidates to the people. So be it. People, you have to make your stand with your votes. Shah Alam constituents, please show this bigot the door.
Fair&Just: If Zulkifli can win over Khalid, then the people shall inherit a depraved and defunct nation where its people are lacking even the simple basic human instinct of differentiating between right and wrong.
If we lose this chance of changing the government, we might as well let all those BN vermins have free reign forever.
The people, especially the minorities, shall forever be insulted, humiliated, sidelined and trampled on if goons like this bigot is in the government.
P Dev Anand Pillai: Mohd Zin claims that he has got Selangor in his hands already. The people of Selangor may have been bombarded with BN propaganda but remember we are a state which braved the storm and chose Pakatan. We had reasons and we are not stupid.
The people of Selangor have transformed to become a very well informed lot, we know how to differentiate a cheat from an honest person. Selangor will not revert to BN.
Wsoi: Shah Alam residents are more intelligent than the Selangor Umno thinks. If Khalid Samad wins again, that means Umno is really getting disconnected from urban Malays.
Neutralgrounds: I laughed and I almost fell off my chair when I saw the title of this article... what a joke.
