Sabah a mess of Umno's own making

YOURSAY 'This is all Umno-BN's own doing. For decades, they have allowed the influx of illegal immigrants and granted citizenships to them under Project IC.'

Sabah conflict complicates matters for Najib, says report

your say Starr: The Lahad Datu armed intrusion and the Malaysian armed forces' operations against the intruders resulting in a possible drop in Najib's popularity ahead of the general election, is nothing but Umno-BN's own doing.

For decades, they have allowed the influx of illegal immigrants and granted citizenships to Filipino immigrants under Project IC.

The security threats posed by the large presence of foreigners in Sabah has been highlighted by Sabahans for decades but this has fallen on deaf ears in Putrajaya.

Mahathir, the man chiefly responsible for the influx of illegal immigrants, has been particularly mute on this issue since the events began unfolding in Lahad Datu. Can he still justify the granting citizenships to these people, even if they are 'qualified'?

News of Azzimuddie Kiram's brother who resides in Sabah, being placed on the police's wanted list shows the complexities of the situation.

Many of the Suluks and Moros, numbering 500,000 in Sabah, are ardent followers of the Sulu sultanate. Will they still support BN?

Anonymous_40f4: Najib has got nothing to worry about. He has the BN propaganda media to keep praising him and condemning the opposition on an hourly basis. The Umno media portrays him as god and he can do no wrong.

Doc: Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BofAML) has not taken into account that despite the loss of popularity for both the PM and his ruling party, the pro-Umno Election Commission (EC) will certainly be up to mischief during the general election to ensure a BN victory.

SMC77: It is pretty obvious that Najib has blown his last chance to win more support from the Malays. Seven out of eight police officers who were killed by the invaders in Sabah are Malay.

Najib could try to use this opportunity to become Hang Tuah and consolidate his support within Umno and the Malay voters.

But the longer the BN government takes to end the situation, the more votes they will lose in rural Malaysia and in Sabah.

Apapunboleh: It's not a question of how small a majority BN would win. It's how dirty the EC would be to prevent BN from losing.

Lahad Datu rep wants Sabah ban on Tian Chua

Ahmed: Come on, Lahad Datu assemblyperson Datu Nasrun Datu Mansur. There is no need to ban Batu MP Tian Chua from Sabah as he is making a cynical political suggestion.

The facts speaks for itself and I don't agree with what Tian Chua is suggesting. However, the facts do indicate that if Najib has taken quick, firm and decisive action against the Suluk invaders, we might not have lost eight police officers.

Starr: What has Datu Nasrun done about the situation in Lahad Datu that he claims to know so much about? He probably has made the situation worse by helping them to obtain MyKads through Umno's channels and registering them as voters.

Fairplayer: Datu Nasrun, if you are a righteous man, get Mahathir arrested for treason first before you get Batu MP Tian Chua blacklisted.

Who offered Sabah as a training ground for the Moro terrorists? Who approved the delivery of weapons supplied by Muammar Gaddafi to these Moros through Malaysia?

Who was the PM when all these terrorist-related activities were going on? Who approved and orchestrated the close to one million Suluks/Moros to become instant MyKad holders?

And you are not offended/insulted by these treacherous/treasonous acts that have plundered and ravaged Sabah, but you are upset by a few honest words of Tian Chua?

Umno has created a humongous mess and chaos in Sabah because of Project IC. Go blacklist yourself, Dr M and all of Umno before you blacklist Tian Chua. Sabah deserves better.

Kerana Benar : Datu Nasrun is a Suluk and ought not to be in Sabah in the first place. When Pakatan wins in the coming GE13 the government should consider reviewing all the Suluks who had gotten their citizenship to ensure only those who really qualified are entitled to it.

Heavywater : Yes, it is the style of Najib to ban people opposing the ruling party from entering Sabah or Malaysia. What are they afraid of, the truth?

The truth is simple: Sabah is under attack and a few good men have lost their lives due to Najib's indecisive action. Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein is another who had let this issue festered for weeks.

Whatsup: Nasrun, if not for the instant citizens you wouldn't have gotten elected perhaps. Go bark at those who had betrayed the country by giving ICs to the undeserving illegally.
