A witness in the sex trial of former deputy premier Anwar Ibrahim today told the High Court he was stripped nude, his private parts photographed and forced to fabricate evidence pertaining to sex acts against Anwar when he was arrested by the police in Sept 98.

"They (the police) stripped me and forced me to admit I was sodomised by Datuk Seri Anwar. They also forced me to admit Datuk Dr Harun Din (PAS religious scholar) is a womaniser," Mohd Azmin Ali, who is Anwar's ex-private secretary, said.

He said that two days later, the cops took photographs of his private parts in Bukit Aman police headquarters.

"ASP Rodwan came with a photographer to take photos of my private parts, both front and back," said Azmin.

Answering questions from lead counsel Christopher Fernando, Azmin said his sister Ummi Hafilda Ali who caused a stir with her sexual allegations against Anwar, is someone "who likes to lie, is not trustworthy and a daughter who was willing to betray her own parents."

Last Friday, Azmin told judge Arifin Jaka that Ummi was disowned by their father for running away overseas with a married man. The fashion conscious star prosecution witness at Anwar's corruption trial has told reporters she "is still a virgin".

"Ummi enjoyed getting close to famous people and she tried to achieve wealth using any means possible," Azmin told the court.

Ummi together with Anwar's ex-driver Azizan Abu Bakar wrote letters to Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad alleging Azizan was repeatedly sodomised by Anwar. They later retracted the allegations and said they were baseless and written under mere suspicion.

Anwar alleges Ummi and Azizan are pawns in a high-stake political conspiracy orchestrated by Mahathir and his aides to topple him from power.

Azmin also told the court his wife Shamsidar Tahrin is innocent of the rumours that she had an extra-marital affair with his former boss.

"I believe and trust my wife completely. She has a good background and is a religious person who will never commit such acts," he said.

The sodomy trial, meanwhile, has been adjourned to tomorrow morning as counsel and judges are scheduled to meet Thailand's chief justice, who is on a visit to Malaysia, later this afternoon.

Submissions on the relevance of Mahathir's testimony at the trial will continue when Azmin completes his testimony.

Anwar serves a six-year jail term for corruption and stands trial for a separate charge of sodomy and sexual misconduct. He has repeatedly denied all charges and says they were fabricated to end his political career.
