PAS' spiritual leader and Kelantan Menteri Besar Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat has described the action of a few people who stepped on the pictures of the nation's leaders on the eve of the Independence Day celebration in Kuala Lumpur as a very shameful and saddening act.

He said the act did not reflect the culture of Malays and Muslims.
