Felda settlers who rejected and condemned the listing of Felda Global Ventures Holdings Berhad (FGVH) on Bursa Malaysia should have not taken the windfall money given following the announcement made by Prime Minister Najib Razak recently.

Pahang Menteri Besar Adnan Yaakob said these settlers should have stuck to their principles as they had been protesting against the listing of FGVH from the start.

"If I were them, I would feel ashamed for taking the windfall money after insulting and condemning the government and Felda for the listing of FGVH," he told reporters after presenting the windfall money to 1,432 Felda settlers in Sungai Kemahal, Chemomoi and Kemasul in Bentong today.

Adnan said the listing of FGVH on Bursa Malaysia would help boost the socio-economy of the settlers and their land, including plantation and houses, would remain intact come what may.

"Every aspect for the listing of FGVH have been scrutinised. The government will not sabotage the people and the settlers, but instead, will strive to take them to a greater height.

"The settlers will no longer depend solely on the plantation yield because they will earn a better income when their shares are being traded," he added.
