MIC Youth claims that the scuffle yesterday involving its members and PKR supporters outside the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in Putrajaya was started by the opposition party.
Its chief T Mohan (

“(PKR Puchong division chief) S Murali started the fight,” Mohan alleged.
Following the incident, he said, MIC Youth lodged a report at the Sentul police station today.
His statement contradicts PKR’s statement yesterday that they were attacked by MIC Youth when they showed up to meet Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak at his office.
Recounting the incident, Mohan said he was puzzled by PKR’s move to bring provocative banners to Putrajaya, but claiming to be there to resolve the issue of undocumented Malaysian Indians.
Delegations there to see PM
He added that the disturbance near the guardhouse started when the MIC Youth secretary was pushed when both delegations tried to enter the PMO at the same time.
“Nobody condones violence, but things happen. When I wanted to enter the office, the punching started,” he said.
Mohan added that he wanted to defend the members of his delegation, who were there to thank Najib for solving issues involving ICs and birth certificates of the Indian community.
“We’re not just going to sit by and watch MIC members get beaten,” he said, denying Surendran’s allegation that the party brought gangsters to the PMO.
MIC Nambikei Cyber Team coordinator G Kalaichelvan denied Surendran’s accusation that the group attempted to attack Reshina Bathumanathan, a 17-year-old schoolgirl who is an undocumented citizen and was with the PKR delegation to resolve the issue.
“Surendran used the girl as a shield to avoid being hit,” he claimed.
