YOURSAY 'As Curtin University awarded her a honorary PhD, Curtin is effectively agreeing with Rosmah's support for racism.'

Rosmah meets Perkasa, denies buying Curtin award

your say Up2U: I fully agreed with Rosmah Mansor's statement - perhaps her critics got the idea (of buying awards) because they do it themselves.

Let's admit there are many egoistic Malaysians that will pay hundreds of thousand of ringgit to purchase state Datukship, even federal Tan Sri titles.

It is ridiculous not to know many of these Datuks and Tan Sris do not deserve these titles. Some of them are people who are linked to the underworld.

We cannot deny that many 'doctorates and PhDs' were purchased for between RM30,000 to RM50,000. Some of these holders have never completed lower secondary schooling.

Justice Pao: Rosmah has just confirmed that Perkasa is the 'slandering' and 'racist' arm of Umno by officiating this event.

As Curtin University awarded her a honorary PhD, Curtin is effectively agreeing with her support for racism.

Fair Play: The PM's wife said that she will continue to face all 'slander, thorns and tribulations' for the sake of the rakyat. Wow, such 'sacrifices' and she is not even an elected representative of the rakyat.

Pemerhati: Rosmah attending a Perkasa gathering, and being praised by one of its leaders, is akin to US first lady Michelle Obama attending a Ku Klux Klan event and receiving lavish praise from one of its leaders who says, "Ku Klux Klan is not a racist organisation but one which promotes unity. We believe that national unity is rooted in white supremacy."

Fairplayer: To Ibrahim Ali, is it any wonder that you all love her? After all, birds of the same feathers flock together, and they smell the same and make the same sound.

The fact that Ibrahim can't distinguish diamond from gold shows his utter ignorance for a man of his position.

MC: "He (Ibrahim Ali) added that the claim that she owns a ring worth RM24 million is ludicrous as gold worth that much ‘would be the size of a watermelon' and impossible to wear."

Ibrahim Ali, you are such an idiot. You can't even distinguish between gold and diamond. You should just shut up as you are looking more and more stupid by the day.

Tholu: Ibrahim Ali, no matter how much you want to show your allegiance to PM Najib Razak through his wife, don't try to defend the indefensible.

There are diamond rings worth more than RM100 million. You are either feigning naivety or you are a real dumb man.

Either characteristics make you a very remote candidate for a people's representative even in an island of two.

Dood: Rosmah still doesn't get it, and from the looks of it will probably never get it. The more she responds with hostility and arrogance, the more she will be despised by the public.

Onyourtoes: Desperate time calls for desperate measure, now even to the extent of courting solace and support from a group known for its depraved racist rant. How low can one go?

No one is saying you paid for that PhD; people are saying they probably paid you to receive it. Can you see the irony?

No one is saying you asked for it, but did you ask yourself in your heart whether you deserve it? If someone offers you something and you know in your heart you don't deserve it, what does that indicate to you? It means you can be bought and sold, again do you see the irony?

We all know you do not need that PhD. But do you know it is not about that stupid piece of paper. This is about your longing for acceptance, recognition and big ego. Again, can you see it?

Louis: Rosmah did not pay for the honour. It is the rakyat who paid with their blood-and-sweat money.

The degree was given to her on her work in Permata, which is financed by the government. Therefore, she has no right to claim the honour which rightfully belongs to the rakyat.

Multi Racial: The more one attempted to defend it, the more guilty one turned into. The worse thing is getting help from an organisation which the rakyat do not have any respect for or support.

Changeagent: "Greatness is not measured by what a man or woman accomplishes, but by the opposition he or she overcomes to reach his or her goals" (Dorothy Height).

Ibrahim Ali and his mob of 700 must think quite highly of Rosmah's ‘greatness' since she has so far managed to deflect and overcome all opposition attacks on her lavish lifestyle, heavy shopping, honorary doctorate award from Curtin University, and incorrect usage of the FLOM (First Lady of Malaysia) title.

That must be why they all said to her, "We all love you".

Borg Kinaulu: Perkasa, please name the Chinese donors to your prestigious event which was graced by the presence of the ‘first lady of Malaysia'.

Open Minded: Even if it an honorary doctorate, it is bestowed on those who have some great achievements or contribution to society.

In your case, Rosmah, I cannot find anything except that you have been in the limelight for all the wrong reasons.

I am sure a university of repute like the Curtin has strict criteria for selection of its recipients. Curtin can look forward to some special privileges if it decides to expand its operations in Malaysia.

Unspin: Since the horse has opened its mouth and said that "it's not an issue for me whether I have a PhD or not", Curtin University should immediately withdraw the award to protect the reputation of the university and avoid any further controversies.
