The High Court in Kuala Lumpur fixed March 9 to enable Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Wanita chief Zuraida Kamaruddin and the party’s strategy director Mohd Rafizi Ramli to enter their defence over a RM100 million defamation suit against them by Women, Family and Community Development Minister Shahrizat Abdul Jalil.

Justice Vazeer Alam Mydin Meera also fixed March 30 for case management during proceedings today.

The defendants were represented by Razlan Hadri and Ranjit Singh K Sivapakiam appeared for Shahrizat.

Shahrizat is seeking RM50 million in general damages and RM50 million exemplary and aggravated damages in her suit filed last Jan 19, relating to their alleged defamatory statements linking her to the National Feedlot Corporation (NFC) controversy.

She is also seeking an injunction to restrain the defendants from further making slanderous oral or written statements against her with regard to the issue.
