Segambut MP Lim Lip Eng said today he is prepared to get Danny Ng, the victim who was assaulted by an i-City KFC staff member this week, to barter peace for an apology.

NONE "I will try to convince the victim to shake hands and make peace and move forward with those who assaulted him at KFC if the perpetrator apologises," he said at a press conference today.

This offer was made hours before Ng was to be at an indentification parade, at Shah Alam district police station this afternoon.

Ng lodged a police report over the matter on Wednesday.

Lim added that KFC’s management has agreed to meet Ng next week at its headquarters.

"Ng will be accompanied by a DAP lawyer on both occasions," he said.

Ng was featured in a Youtube video - that has gone viral since its upload - showing a KFC employee beating him up.

Lim said that KFC should apologise for its failure to prevent such an incident.

However, he said the staff who had attempted to restraint his colleague should be given due credit.

"We should praise them for their effort to hold back those who wanted to attack Ng," he said.

KFC admits failure

Meanwhile, KFC Malaysia deputy president Alan Au in a video message on Facebook said the company deeply regretted the incident and promised to prevent a repeat.

"We will build around this and continue to improve on the existing programme so as to avoid incidences of this nature from happening again, and this is our commitment to our customers," he said.

On Thursday, KFC through its Facebook page also announced that all those involved had been suspended and on top of assisting with police's investigation, it is also conducting an internal investigation into the matter.
