Who planted the bombs? The usual suspects

YOURSAY 'Why would 901 supporters put bombs at the very place they would be holding arally? It is like bringing a bomb to your own living room...'.

'Bombs linked to 901 rally demonstrators'

your say Victor Johan: "The 'not so reliable' source told Utusan Malaysia , adding that the investigation took some time as no CCTV was installed in the area."

Didn't the IGP (inspector-general of police) say the day before that the CCTV cameras installed in the court area will be used to monitor the rally participants. The IGP should now pull up this 'source' who is supposedly in the investigative team, and let the rakyat know the latest development.

By the way, why were the Special Branch personnel there disguised as journalists and cameramen. They were seen pushing the crowd while DSAI (Anwar Ibrahim), his family and Pakatan Rakyat leaders were coming out of the main gate.

To spot them, check the videos posted in the Internet. Shouldn't they be there among the crowd to nab those anti-Anwar protestors who might do mischief, like planting these bombs?

HYL: "In addition to being thoroughly inspected, the area had been guarded by police personnel since a day before the rally."

The first thing that came into my mind is that it may be planted by the police since they are there first before anyone else. And who else can plant a bomb in a police cone, if not those with access to it?

By Election Fan: Demonstrators bomb themselves? Interesting! How many police were deployed to the court on that day? How about the undercover police officers who mingled among Pakatan supporters?

How about the CCTV? Three cones were not a small item to be sneak in without being noticed, not to say escape the surveillance of the CCTV in the court compound.

All I can say is that the bombs were planted by some party who themselves believed Anwar would be convicted of the sodomy charge.

Expecting a big commotion after the guilty verdict, these terrorists aimed to pin the blame on Anwar's supporters for the explosions. 100 percent logical, right?

Unfortunately, they were not informed that Anwar would be walking out a free man.

Nik V: The seriousness of three homemade bombs being used on the rakyat, regardless of their political affiliation, would have drawn the highest condemnation from top leaders and the police chief of any government.

But we didn't hear much from PM Najib Razak, DPM Muhyiddin Yassin, Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein, the IGP and de facto law minister Mohd Nazri Abdul Aziz. This would lead one to wonder about their complete silence.

YF: I believe the modus operandi of the bomber/s is to cause a massive stampede among the many 901 supporters. Umno knows there are many 901 supporters (as seen in Bersih) on that day, so what better way to cause them hurt?

Only black-hearted and insane people would harm the rakyat and the likes of those can be found in Umno.

Rakyat Malaysia: I remember someone telling  me that last time Umno used this tactic was in Sabah when the opposition took over.

Malaysian Born: The police have to get to the bottom of this very serious act and bring the perpetrators to book. Whoever did this was counting on the court judgment to go against the PKR leader so that it would cause maximum impact, coupled with the ensuing protest.

Given the buoyant and celebratory mood after the surprise judgment, the explosions had no impact at all. Some people were trying to play a dangerous game here, obviously masquerading as protestors trying to cause strife and violence.

Fortunately between the disciplined crowd and the professional behaviour of the police on the ground, it was a non-event.

Nothing short of an in-depth investigation is needed and the guilty parties as well as their links, wherever they may lead, must be rooted out.

Kbe: Clearly, even as investigations continue the police seem to have ruled out the possibility of infiltration and sabotage, if revelation by the so-called source is anything to go by.

Then again, the police 'source' could well be merely Utusan's figment of imagination.

Onyourtoes: Let's look at this issue rationally. First, the police said they have checked thoroughly before and during the rally and found nothing, but the bombs exploded anyway. So did the police really do their job?

Second, we should look at who had the best motivation to disrupt the rally. I think every rally participant wanted to get to the court complex and back safely. I think every rally participant wanted minimum disruption.

Third, who would like the rally to disperse as soon as possible? I could only think of those who were against Anwar or the police.

Fourth, I think we could all figure this out.

Mob1900: Question 1: Who have the utmost access to the area way before the public started coming?

Question 2: Who has access to firearms and explosives?

Question 3: Who benefits from frightening and intimidating the protesters?

Lim Chong Leong: Why would 901 supporters put bombs at the very place they would be holding a rally? It is like bringing a bomb to your own living room and watching TV after setting it on.

The police were patrolling the place from the day before up till the very end when the crowd dispersed. Who could have brought a bomb and placed it under a police cone in broad daylight unless it was the police themselves.

As usual, Utusan sought to label Pakatan and its supporters as troublemakers who wanted chaos, when it is Umno which would have benefited from chaos just like in May 13.

Vijay47: I think that Utusan and the police source may be right, that the bombs were indeed planted by Pakatan supporters. But I personally think that they were planted by Christians.
