Four Felda settlers have filed a court injunction against the public listing of Felda Global Ventures Holdings (FGVH) on Bursa Malaysia.

They are also seeking injunctions to block Koperasi Permodalan Felda Malaysia Bhd’s (KPF) extraordinary general meeting (EGM) from being convened on Jan 5, and in disposing of its assets in Felda Holdings and ten other subsidiaries.

The suit, facilitated by Felda settlers NGO the Association of Felda Settlers’ Children (Anak), was filed at Temerloh High Court this morning.

NONE “We are asking for an immediate hearing because the EGM is due on Jan 5,” said Anak chief Mazlan Aliman ( left ) when contacted.

Mazlan, who is also a PAS central committee member, said the group was accompanied by some 150 supporters when the suit was filed.

Judge Akhtar Tahir will decide on a date for the hearing next Tuesday.

Mohd Haris Abdullah is acting as lawyer for the four in the suit.

“The fact is that this action (public listing) is simply to gain RM3 billion in funds for a certain agenda come April next year,” Anak chief Mazlan Aliman was quoted as saying.

Mazlan added that KPF, which is the majority stakeholder in Felda Holdings, is already performing well on its own and the status quo should remain.

Gabungan Peneroka Generasi Wawasan Felda Kebangsaan (Gempak), another Felda settlers association, has also voiced concern over the proposed listing.
