Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak today denied claims that embattled cabinet minister Shahrizat Abdul Jalil had tendered her resignation.

Asked at a press conference in Kuala Lumpur, Najib said no such letter has been given to him.

“I have not received the letter. I will make a comment on this in due course,” he said.

Najib’s comments breaks his silence over the scandal involving a RM250 milion government soft loan to the National Feedlot Corporation (NFC), a company owned by the family of the Women, Family and Community Development Minister.

Pressed by reporters, the PM however refused to comment further, reiterating that he will speak on the issue “when the time is right”.

Cornered by reporters at another event earlier today, Shahrizat reiterated that she had done nothing wrong and was merely the wife of the NFC director.

The scandal which broke out after the Auditor-General reported the feedlot a “mess”, has not shown signs of ebbing.

NONE PKR, which has been on the forefront of exposes on the issue, today lodged its second Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission report.

It had yesterday revealed that the family owns a RM10 mil condominium in downtown Singapore, where it owns several businesses.

PKR also produced email correspondence involving the family which showed that funds were transferred from NFC to their Singapore businesses.

But no evidence was shown that NFC funds were used to pay for the Orchard Scotts unit.
