The alternative transmission line route proposed as a solution to strong protests from villagers in Kampung Sungai Terentang, Rawang, is unlikely to work, said Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB).
TNB said the alternative route that cuts through the Jln Ipoh from Rawang, as proposed by the New Zealand consultants to TNB, will face inadequate space along the road.
“From my understanding, the consultants have not actually seen the situation in the (highway).
"We are inviting them to do so.
"Most importantly, (if we options for the alternative route), whenever we want to do maintenance, we have to close down the road,” said TNB vice president Rozimi Remeli at a media briefing session at TNB headquarters today.
He however stressed that no decision has been made and he will continue to discuss the matter with the consultants.
