VOXPOP One day Najib is on the 1Malaysia mode. The following week he is on the Malay supremacy tangent.

'Najib's links with Pekida prove he is an ultra-Malay'

vox populi small thumbnail Docs: Ultra-Malay maybe. Ultra confused most definitely. One day Najib is on the 1Malaysia mode. The following week he is on the Malay supremacy tangent.

Kim Quek: Najib's ultra-racist posture in Perkida is blacked out in the Chinese press, for reasons we all know.

In that way, he thinks he can have the cake and eat it. It's up to us to make full use of the alternative media to expose his Jekyll and Hyde role.

In fact, almost every BN leader is playing such a duplicitous role to various degrees. For Najib to make such a bold gamble - openly soliciting electoral support ("I help you, you help me") from such a shady, extremist body - he must be dead worried of BN's electoral fortune.

Queenie: The guy is no strategist but a desperate headless chicken going hither and thither. He can't make up his mind. The 1Malaysia thing and the race and religion cards just about cancel each other out.

The DPM is now also playing the same thing, trying to score points with the non-Malays with Najib's 1Malaysia thingy after playing the race card.

They will be returned in their safe constituencies, no doubt, but they are doing no favour for the other BN candidates. How to mask a two-pronged strategy when they cancel out each other? You mask nothing in the end.

Kgen: Najib can support who he likes, but please spare us the 1Malaysia crap. Just admit that Umno is now forging links with right wing groups in a desperate attempt to fend off Pakatan's challenge.

Giving different messages to different groups doesn't work nowadays. With the efficiency of information dispersal, it just makes you look like a lying two-faced hypocrite with a forked tongue.

DontPlayGod: So what's new? We already know, for decades now, that Umno is the last standing party in the world to use racism and discrimination as its political ideology.

It's only now that Najib is coming out in the open and telling us that he has given up on his hypocritical 1Malaysia or Economic Transformation Plan, etc. It's about time sycophant parties like MCA, MIC, Gerakan, PBS, sit up and take note, and realise that they are but puppets of Umno.

Peaceful Assembly Bill comes under UN fire

Bender: These UN rapporteurs need to realise something. This is Malaysia. In Malaysia we have our own brand of everything, from powdered milk (tainted, I might add) to democracy, and from sambal belacan to the justice system.

No one, including the UN can tell Malaysians what to do. International laws don't apply here. Here you can push people out of a window just because someone thinks he/she got involved in bribery.

Here you can show porn during prime time television, sponsored by the government.

Here, cows live in condos and drive Mercedes. And here, the PM can say bangsat on TV and people clap joyfully but an average Joe like me, wearing yellow, can go to jail.

So, Mr and Ms Rappoteur, save your breath. Better you look somewhere else for your reform, for there's no hope for your moral policies here, in this Bolehland.

By Election Fan: This kind of barbaric laws can only be passed by a falling regime. These Umno politicians fail to understand their role as politicians.

A good politician is supposed to safeguard and rule with the best interests of the people in mind. Coming to power with the rakyat's mandate is not a privilege for them to misbehave.

In Malaysia, we see all sort of nonsense and mismanagement by BN/Umno politicians, where billions of ringgit are plundered.

Oppressive laws like ISA, OSA and now this absurd law, camouflaged as Peaceful Assembly Bill, will only bring peace to the corrupted politicians and not the rakyat.

Vote them out in GE 13. That is our duty to our beloved nation.

Reborn: These guys are rapporteurs, not members of the UN nor their spokesmen, but appointed watchdogs, and there are thousands of them. All wannabe activists, and they want to be famous.

Singapore, Burma and many African countries need their help, with regard to peaceful assemblies, but they want to help Malaysia. So kind.

Clear subs deal imbroglio, gov't told

Hello: Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng, why take up the challenge? After all, Defence Minister Zahid Hamidi is the one that should prove the vessel is fully working. So it should be he who should go into the vessel together with his fellow ministers, including the PM, who was responsible for the purchase, with their wives and families.

This will prove their confidence in the vessel. Why should the person who questions the capability of the vessel have to prove it is working? It's just like the BN mentality - killing the messenger/victim instead of the promulgator!

Anonymous: Defence Minister, are you defending Malaysians or the corrupted?

Jeremy Ng: Dive or not is not the issue. The main controversy is the high cost and the commission paid.

Multi Racial: I assume they bought the submarines because of some kind of threat to the country. Luckily, our enemies are quite considerate as they waited for 21 months for us to repair two brand new submarines so that they can submerge.

Now that it can submerge, we hope it can also fire torpedoes. If not, we may have to wait for another 21 months to repair these.

By then, new submarine models will probably be out and our Defence Ministry may consider buying new ones to replace the old ones.

After all, they only cost RM7.3 billion and we have considerate enemies who would not attack us when our submarines are under repair.

Come to think of it, since our enemies are so considerate, wouldn't it is better to befriend them and trade?

In this way, we save so much money for the country. What??? I can't hear you!! Oh, spending a lot of money is a must as it is the policy of BN. We like to buy expensive stuff so our enemies will think we have good weapons.

Hermit: In the interest of every Malaysian and especially Najib, I'm proposing that Zahid hires an independent naval submarine pilot from US or Russia to certify the worthiness of the two submarines purchased by Najib, who was then defence minister.

Otherwise, we're just fools, either adding to our museum collection or just throwing money for junk submarines, and making the country poorer.

Samy's son going for Sungai Siput seat

L Joy: I just can't believe that MIC can come up with Vell Paari as a potential candidate.

If they can reject Samy Vellu with all his power, and the excellent service he gave that place, we must admit that Vell Paari, who has not shown any credibility or wisdom on any matter thus far, will find it hard to convince voters he is any better.

And to go up against Dr Michael Devaraj Jeyakumar? Boy, MIC must be kidding. There is no one in MIC or any professional that MIC can rope in that can win against Dr Jeyakumar.

Not after what Dr Jeyakumar was prepared for and did do, to stand up for the people with all odds stacked against him, and suffering in the process.

Even VT Sambanthan, if he were to miraculously arise from the dead, cannot defeat Dr Jeyakumar.

So, MIC, your best strategy is to go to the nomination centre and make a serious mistake so that your candidate is disqualified. That would save your face.

Ben-ghazi: Hello MIC! Don't waste time putting a candidate like this Paari... who? Because he is going to lose his deposit. People there have made up their minds.

BN no more. No more corruption. No more cronyism. No more sex scandals. No more manipulation of the judiciary. No more corrupt police force.
