Ferd Tan: Much of the Anwar Ibrahim's testimony is against the unfairness of the presiding judge and the deputy public prosecutors.

We wonder what is going through justice Mohamad Zabidin Mohd Diah's head as he has to sit in front of Anwar listening to opposition leader's diatribe against him for being unfair.

He went through a series of his obviously flawed judgments - some of which we, as laymen, can discern but the learned judge cannot.

Isa@1penyu: As usual, Anwar gave a political speech packed with hearsay and lies. Refusing to be interviewed is a right, but if Najib and Rosmah refused to go to court, it's a crime?

Anwar is just afraid of being cross-examined because he's afraid the truth will prevail.

ONG: I, too, don't like Anwar. My dislike for him started from his Umno days and continues until now, which is different from dislike for Anwar only because he left Umno.

P Dev Anand Pillai: It is the accused person's right to give his testimony from the the dock. Knowing very well that he is never going to get any justice from this court, Anwar has made the right decision.

At least, the other side of the coin will be there for all to see by using this method.

By giving his statement from the dock, this is what appears to be unfolding. Anyway, the accusation as Anwar points out is pretty stale - the same players and the same story. Why even bother to call it Sodomy II?

See it this way - if you accuse someone of hurting you, you have the onus of proving it.

Najib, Rosmah, Musa subpoenaed

Rick Teo: What kind of PM do we have in Najib Razak? Is he afraid of the truth by becoming a defence witness?

The rakyat deserves to know the truth, whether or not Anwar was set up. Why did he meet up with Saiful at his house? All these questions need to be answered. If Najib has nothing to hide, why would he be afraid?

By not becoming a witness, the PM loses credibility. He does not want the truth to be known that it was a plot hatched by him to incarcerate Anwar and end his political career.

No one can show contempt to the court even though he may be the PM. If he doesn't turn up, then a warrant of arrest can be issued for his arrest. For the system to work, it must be seen to be impartial.

If the ordinary Joe can be arrested for not attending court, then Najib can also be arrested for not attending. There should not be two laws applicable for Malaysians.

Lakia: Look closely how the attorney-general operates, how the police carry out their investigation and how the judiciary functions.

If all these institutions can be so easily manipulated against such a powerful person like Anwar Ibrahim, who are we ordinary Malaysians to fight and stand up for justice and righteousness when our rights are trampled by those in power?

Forget about the moral or weaknesses of Anwar in the past and at present, or in the future. This is about justice, about how the law should be applied and about how our system or institutions should operate.

Dood: So since they didn't go despite being subpoenaed, when will the arrest warrants be issued?

Or maybe there's no need to bother with arrest warrants because it seems to be a Malaysian thing to conduct raids and searches without proper warrants anyway, so why not arrests too?

Oh, don't forget to send a few dozen police officers equipped with assault gear to storm the recalcitrant witnesses' homes. That's another Malaysian thing.
