'Not many of us could claim the honour of the battles Wan Azizah has fought and survived and who remains as steadfast and elegantly looking as ever.'
Wan Azizah: God forbid I'll be like Rosmah
Bhajnik Singh: Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail - an educated postgraduate doctor, a dedicated wife and mother, a wife who went through many, many alleged scandals brought against her husband but took it all in her stride whilst bringing up her children to be good human beings, a leader fighting against an evil and corrupt government, a Malaysian first, a sweet and humble human being.
And Rosmah Mansor - what can I say except nothing at all.
FellowMalaysian: Wan Azizah speaks from the heart and with sincerity. She's a woman with no equals where perseverance, dedication and forbearance counts.
Through Anwar Ibrahim's struggling years and facing tremendous and arduous tasks, duties and expectations from supporters, she struggled and prodded her way through and always appearing staunchly by the side of her husband through thick and thin.
Not many of us could claim the honour of facing the battles Wan Azizah has fought and survived and who remains to this day as steadfast and elegantly looking as ever. If ever there's a vote calling for a 'fearless' woman, Wan Azizah would win hands down.
Azizi Khan: You know, I would rather have Wan Azizah as our PM than Anwar. Why? She is a strong woman. Yes, Anwar has a lot of charisma and he has his strength. But Wan Azizah has shown that she can stand on her own.
Perhaps it's time Malaysia looks past the norm and starts looking for real Malaysians who can contribute building this country - people like Wan Azizah.
Kosongcafe: Wan Azizah and Rosmah are as different as chalk and cheese. So it was foolish when someone tried to portray her as spendthrift when the example given was insignificant in comparison to Rosmah's penchant for luxuries.
Instead of museum, Rosmah would insist on closing a section of Harrods for her personal shopping. Even Princess Diana declined such offers. Personal traits of public figures show, and there is only so much public relations can do.
Matteropong: Kak Wan, you're brave enough to face BN-Umno. However, you're not alone in fighting injustices in every segments of life and we hope one day our economy will be par as Singapore, our politics/democracy will be as Indonesia and our agricultural exports will be par as Thailand. God willing... Insyallah
Pure Malaysian: Wan Azizah is the first Asian/Malaysian to have her name crafted on the Best Student of the Year in RCSI (Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland) award board.
Proarte: Kak Wan, please do not destroy your reputation by defending Anwar over the sex tape. It is as clear as daylight that the man is Anwar and this has been corroborated by international experts.
Integrity is fundamental in opposition politics. By lying for Anwar, you are destroying PKR credibility because you are the president of the party.
Malaysiasakit: Proarte, like you, I am no fan of Anwar but I feel compelled to tell you that you may have been misled on the sex tape. Like you, I was convinced that the person in the video was Anwar when the defence lawyer claimed that the identity of the protagonist was confirmed by Professor Hani Farid, a renown scientist in this area.
The same thing happened in Teoh Beng Hock's case when an expert, Dr Paul Mullen, was quoted to have said that Beng Hock committed suicide. I refused to believe that Beng Hock's death was suicide until the RCI (royal commission of inquiry) announced its findings and I thought maybe he did take his life.
If you read the RCI report you'll know that Mullen was quoted out of context by the royal commission. The point is when someone uses an expert's name, you can't be sure he is not bluffing.
Back to the Anwar tape, the screening of the video is court shows that judge and defence acted in bad faith and cast doubt on their claim on the expert's opinion.
JBGUY: I am no fan of Anwar but I would like to say Anwar's personal life or sex life is irrelevant to me. I want a leader who will lead Malaysia to greater heights and give the rakyat a better life. The preponderance over Anwar's sex life is gutter politics at its best.
Insofar, the BN government have failed to convince me that they have been doing a good job. I will vote for Anwar because he has been fighting for ‘ketuanan rakyat' as opposed to ‘ketuanan Melayu'.
As for Rosmah, the less said the better, she is but a mirror image of Imelda Marcos.
Benci Munafik: Kak Wan, stay the way you are and the people will love you forever. Imagine yourself in the other person's shoes and being hated by most of the people of this country with most of them are passing bad remarks about you, then you will realise how lucky you are to be yourself, and not the other person.
Tancc: I met Wan Azizah at a Damansara shopping mall when she was MP for Permatang Pauh while Anwar was still in jail. That was probably the hardest and darkest time of her life.
She was with one of her daughters, who was about 10 years old. I walked over to say hello to her and told her "to be strong, and we all support you".
She smiled and shook my hand and said, "Gong Xi Fa Cai" - that was in January, a few weeks before Chinese New Year. There was no bitterness in her despite all the ‘fitnah' thrown at her family.
Malaysiasakit: Whatever shortcomings Anwar has, real or perceived, I take my hat off to Wan Azizah.
Courageous yet faithful to the very end. She is one amazing woman who was humble during Anwar's heydays as DPM and remained strong during Anwar's incarceration. Only a bitter fool would look at her in bad light.
