Police believe that the woman seen having sex with a man that resembles a prominent opposition leader in a video recording exposed by the 'Datuk T' trio, is a Chinese national but no statement has been taken from her yet.
CID deputy director Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani said police had not found the woman yet, refuting a newspaper report which quoted inspector-general of police Ismail Omar as saying yesterday that police had taken a statement from the woman in the sex video.
"The (English language) newspaper report today is wrong as the IGP had never said that," he said in reply to Bernama through SMS.
He, however, declined to reveal the woman's identity so as not to disturb the investigation.
Yesterday, Ismail said police had identified the man and woman in the sex video based on strong evidence obtained during the investigation.
Asked on the investigation into the Omega watch allegedly found in a hotel room where the sex act took place, Acryl Sani said the one-week period given to the watch distribution company to furnish police with the information required would end this week.
"However, the company has so far not given any feedback although it had promised that it would be this week."
The watch and the sex video had been handed over to the police recently as evidence by businessman Shazryl Eskay Abdullah, former Malacca chief minister Abdul Rahim Thamby Chik and former Perkasa treasurer Shuib Lazim, collectively known as 'Datuk T'.
The sex video case is being investigated under Section 292 of the Penal Code for distributing pornographic material.
