Azmin Ali was today officially crowned the new deputy president of PKR, tallying a total of 19,543 votes.

Votes for Azmin’s sole opponent Mustaffa Kamil Ayub was not announced, but it is widely speculated that he only managed a fraction of the victor's votes.

For the vice-presidents contest, Nurul Izzah Anwar emerged with the highest number of votes at 13,211. At the young age of 30, she is the youngest person to helm the VP post.

It is understood that Selangor exco Dr Xavier Jeyakumar trailed at fifth place and Padang Serai MP N Gobalakrishnan at sixth.

For the 20 central leadership council posts, PKR Wanita information chief Elizabeth Wong led the pack, with incumbents Selangor menteri besar office's information director Badrul Amin Baharon and Khalid Jaafar, Petaling Jaya Selatan MP Hee Loy Sian and Sungai Petani MP Johari Abdul close behind.

Later in his winding-up speech, party secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said that 15 in the central leadership council are new faces and that eight of them are below 40 years old.
