The more Zaid talks, the more support he loses

your say 'Politicians are all the same - it's all about massaging their own ego and serving their own interests.'

'Anwar is not the great saviour'

Md Imraz Muhammed Ikhbal: "What has Anwar (Ibrahim) stood for? If you look at his struggle, what is his struggle? The (thing) that helped him was the black eye. He was convicted of corruption, abuse of power. When he was a minister what reforms did he do? Look back. Don't be swayed... look at the facts." says Zaid Ibrahim.

Are these "facts" something new that happened only recently? If not, then why did Zaid even joined PKR in the first place? Wasn't he the one, following his sacking from Umno, who said that he was going to take his time to choose the right party for him and ended up choosing PKR?

So why sing a different song to the same tune? Is this not the whining of a power-crazed sore loser?

Suhaimi Said: This man who talks with ‘I' egoism can never be part of a team player. He talks about himself, what he did, and what he will do. He will not talk about what we will do. He cannot be part of any organisation unless he forms his own political party and he takes the presidency and no one will challenge him.

He is not a man of any substance, but an egoistic individual, who cares about nothing except himself. PKR is so fortunate to get rid of him.

Compass: Zaid can count me out as one of his supporters. Someone who cannot wait for the seeds he sowed to even grow their roots will never be a leader. Nay, such people cannot even be part of any group. He can only be his own boss. Good luck, Zaid.

Urban Malaysian: I cannot understand all these Zaid bashing. If Anwar supporters think Zaid is no good, then his leaving the party will be good for the party, no? Then why blame him for giving fodder to BN to make hay?

Actually, I take my hats off to him for daring to spell it out that Anwar has to step down. No one, not even LKS (Lim Kit Siang) or Karpal Singh dare to say so. PKR is a very weak link in the Pakatan Rakyat chain.

No doubt Anwar is the rallying factor for DAP and PAS to work together under the Pakatan banner resulting in the 308 political tsunami. But Anwar is not the only factor for that 308 victory. Let's not forget the substantial contribution from bloggers and the like and most of all, it was the people who were really fed up and angry with BN.

Edwrong: Politicians are all the same - it's all about massaging their own ego and serving their own interests.

Zaid, you say you are for the people but you have just jeopardised our chances of removing BN from power anytime soon. What is your strategy actually? If you think you are capable of changing the country for the better just by forming your own new party, you are truly as egotistical and clueless as any BN megalomaniac.

If you really want to serve the country and help the people, then why are you wilfully destroying the only chance we have of seeing a regime change? So much time have been wasted by the politicians on both sides through childish taunting, finger-pointing, name-calling.

Frankly, I'm tired and I'm wondering why we're even paying for your salaries as taxpayers. There's not even a viable second force and now you want a third force? This is not a game, okay? We are not your pawns that you can move around at will in your sadistic power play.

Anonymous: Thanks Zaid. Day by day, you helped us right-thinking Malaysians fighting for justice and equal rights under the Malaysian sun make our decision to support Pakatan easier. The more you talked, the more you show your egoistic and selfish nature.

Zaid sends quit letter, vows to contest in GE

Rayfire: I am disappointed at the way Zaid is running down other leaders in PKR. It is true there are weaknesses but one must struggle on and rectify those weaknesses from within. Not whine and point fingers at others conveniently.

Zaid, I placed so much hope on you to turn the future of this nation around for the better, but now I am in serious doubt of your intentions. You seem to imply no one is better than yourself in politics. Sorry, the way you are behaving now is not one of a good politician.

Marge: Zaid joined PKR knowing full well that it is led by Anwar. If Anwar is what Zaid says he is, why then join PKR? Was he promised some position?

He wants to be an MP very badly. He lost one chance. With his loss in the party polls, it looks dim that he will get another chance. What he's doing is beyond a lot of people's comprehension. I don't know what to think of him... really!

Sarawakian: Zaid, just leave with dignity. There is no need to get so personal as it reflects badly on your character. Doing exactly what you accuse others of doing reflects poorly on you.

If you intend to continue in politics and get yourself a party, by all means do it. Be a gentleman and not whine like a sore loser then you will probably attract more people to your cause.

There must be a reason why so many people comment on you negatively. It's because they don't like what they see and hear from a man whom we were led to believe had high principle. Wise up man!

Lim Cheng Inn: I agree with all the comments that were thrown at Zaid. You, Zaid, is not a team player. You are like a spoilt brat who wants things done your way. You expect people to work with you but you cannot work with people. To us you can never be a good shepherd.

Form whatever new party you like and stand for the next general elections. We like to see how far you can go. Anyway, good luck to you and your supporters.

Singa Pura Pura: In lower secondary school I had a friend, smart chap, MIT double-degree and all. His name was OJ.

One morning at school a mutual acquaintance (Danny) came from behind and slapped OJ extremely hard on the back. It was supposed to be a joke spilled over from the day before. OJ was in excruciating pain but remained still and even managed a chuckle.

When Danny left, I asked OJ why, being the eminently bigger and stronger boy, he had not retaliated. OJ said: "If you don't let Danny win, he cannot be your friend anymore."

Danny was so much like Zaid.
