In the latest development on the PKR direct elections, tempers have flared in several AGMs that have continued throughout the evening.

In at least seven divisions, voting has been called off.

There were unconfirmed reports of scuffles in Kota Raja where Sri Andalas assemblyperson Xavier Jayakumar was defending his position, while polling in Subang , Petaling Jaya Selatan and Kapar divisions were also postponed for various reasons.

In Kota Raja , Jayakumar claimed everything was smooth until counting when another divisional candidate brought supporters who disrupted the counting process and put up a fight with supporters from other factions.

Police reports have been lodged, and ballot boxes were sent to PKR headquarters for recount.

Several division members were injured and sent to hospital. Jayakumar himself apparently received physical threats.

azlan Disturbance was also reported in Subang where R Sivarasa is contesting. The Subang MP was apparently unhappy about technical problems in the process that had caused delays, and was reported to have put up heated protests.

In Kapar , delays purportedly due to an overwhelming turnout that overloaded the polling centre caused tempers to flare. One report alleges that amongst the troublemakers were "former Umno and Pekida members".

In Klang , apparent discontent with the election outcome also forced voting to be abandoned.

Anger over the decision of the election officials led to tussles over the ballot boxes and destruction of property. There were also claims that turnout was higher than expected.

In Kuala Langat , reports have emerged of similar ballot box seizures and the disruption of voting.

Earlier this evening, Teluk Kemang (Negeri Sembilan) PKR division chief Kamarul Baharain has lost his post to Port Dickson assemblyperson M Ravi at the division’s AGM this evening.

In his Facebook Kamarul posted a comment saying, "I receive this result with an open heart and will have to act accordingly to give way."

The victor M Ravi told Malaysiakini , "I have no bad blood with Kamarul ... not today, not tomorrow or after... he is still my friend."

Elizabeth Wong loses fight for PJ Utara

NONE The day’s twists also saw Selangor MB Khalid Ibrahim ( right ) joining the list of eligibles for party No 2, with four nominations, the latest coming from the party's Petaling Jaya Utara (PJU) division.

The division also saw Elizabeth Wong lose to Lee Chin Cheh in a four-cornered fight.

It is learned that Wong is not satisfied with the results and will be filing a complaint with the party's elections committee, saying she has evidence of illegality.

According to Wong, she is objecting to the fact that Lee only transferred his membership to PJU in August.

Wong points out that this is past the June deadline for eligibility, and claims the transfer did not abide by the rules, hinting at an "inside job".
