Controversial artiste Wee Meng Chee was hauled up by the authorities again today, this time to face the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).

The songwriter and filmmaker was summoned to the MCMC headquarters in Cyberjaya, and at 6.30pm had yet to emerge from the building since he entered at 12.30pm.

His manager, Fred Chong, said he did not know what Wee, better known as Namewee, had been summoned for but it is believed to be related to his recent controversial video titled "Nah!"

This is the second time this week that Wee has been questioned over the video, having spent three hours with the police on the night of Merdeka Day, giving his statement at the Taman Tun Dr Ismail police station.

namewee nah 030910 The video, which has since been taken off his blog, showcased a three-minute rap song in which Wee raged - in colourful, expletive-filled language - against incidents of racism in Malaysia.

He targeted in particular the heads of two schools in Kedah and Johor ,who are alleged to have uttered racial slurs against non-Malay students.

'Internet issues'

Namewee finished recording his statement with the MCMC at 8pm and upon coming out, told reporters present that four officers handled the recording.

However, he refused to disclose what transpired during the session or under what area of the law he was called in under.

The rapper only revealed that his questioning was not all that focussed on racial matters but more to ‘Internet-related issues’.

Namewee reiterated that he had no fear being the subject of an official investigation as he had ‘done nothing wrong’.

"All I have done is to protest against racism," he stressed.
