Teenage trio plead guilty over surau paint attack
Three teenagers have pleaded guilty to charges of lobbing bottles filled with paint at a surau in Taman Pulai Impian, Seremban, on Aug 22.
Three teenagers have pleaded guilty to charges of lobbing bottles filled with paint at a surau in Taman Pulai Impian, Seremban, on Aug 22.
The trio, aged between 16 and 17, were charged with two counts of "committing mischief and thereby causing damage to the amount of RM25 or above" under Section 427 of the Penal Code.
They face a maximum two years in jail or a fine or both.
Juvenile Court Magistrate M Mageshwary released them on RM1,000 bail each and will be sentenced on Sept 22.
The three were represented by counsel Lee Kong Fei while the prosecution was represented by DPP Mahmud Abdullah.
The three were among four individuals detained on Aug 23 over the incident. They were under remand until today.
Their parents have since apologised to the surau committee and the local community over the incident.
