The government has been urged to take action against a school principal who allegedly uttered derogatory remarks against Chinese and Indians during a school function in Kulai, Johor.

sibu by election lim kit siang In a press statement today, DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang ( left ) said the "severest" disciplinary action must be taken against SMK Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra principal Siti Inshah Mansor, for allegedly uttering the remarks.

Lim said that action must be taken against Siti Inshah because it went against Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's 1Malaysia concept, which promise inclusiveness.

"What defies the imagination is that Siti Inshah could make such a derogatory, offensive, insensitive and racist statement at an occasion to launch the school's National Day celebrations," said Lim.

Lim notes that ironically, this year's National Day theme was "1Malaysia transforms the nation".

According to numerous police reports that have been circulating online, Siti Inshah made the alleged remarks on Aug 12 while speaking about discipline problems.

She allegedly said Chinese students were "not needed" and should "return" to China while Indian students should get rid of prayer strings on their wrists, adding that only dogs would do so.

Remember Ahmad Ismail, Nasir Safar?

Lim said the incident invokes images of previous derogatory remarks made by former Bukit Bendera Umno division chief Ahmad Ismail and former special officer to the prime minister Nasir Safar .

"What has gone wrong with Malaysian nation-building, 53 years after Merdeka and 47 years after the formation of Malaysia?

"This is what should concern the Prime Minister and the Cabinet," said Lim, and implored that Cabinet should discuss the matter in detail tomorrow.

He adds that Siti Inshah's alleged remarks, coupled with Ahmad and Nasir's past comments, shows that they were not isolated incidents contributed by "communal brain-washing" by Biro Tatanegara.
