MCA vs Umno: Deja vu?

vox populi big thumbnail ‘Why is Chua Soi Lek pointing to DAP to protect the Chinese? It seems this is propaganda to make the Malays and Indians suspicious of DAP as being pro-Chinese only.’

MCA to Umno: We won't back down

DannyLoHH: Things are starting to play out like what happened prior to Operasi Lalang. MCA starts to "reflect the wishes of the Chinese community", then some firebrands from Umno (now Perkasa) will come out next with threats of violence and calling for blood, then the Internal Security Act (ISA) will swing in full force to arrest all the opposition leaders with just one or two  from the MCA. Since we have Sodomy II played out, I can't stop wondering whether Operasi Lalang II is in the making.

Myrights:

I am deeply suspicious of Chua Soi Lek's sincerity because of this statement: "MCA will not be afraid of sharing similar views with DAP in terms of the benefiting the (Chinese) community and (will not) run away from making a stand".

Now, why is he pointing to DAP alone and not all of Pakatan Rakyat, or at least PKR, to protect the Chinese? It seems to me that this may be propaganda to make the Malays and Indians suspicious of DAP as being pro-Chinese only. Truth is, DAP is not a race-based party, and fights for all Malaysians regardless of race unlike BN component parties.

DOC: I wonder if MCA will call for unity talks with the DAP similar to the nature of Umno calling for unity talks with PAS. Both MCA and Umno share a similar fate: both are bleeding out support from members of their community.

Susah Kes:

History has taught me this one thing, and that is to not trust MCA/Umno/BN. A ‘sandiwara’, yet again? How did Chua manage to become so "daring" all of a sudden, seeing that at any time, Umno can direct charges on him for his DVD sessions?

Similarly, this is the very same guy who, on one hand, says he doesn't mind working with DAP, but on the other hand, wants to launch a cyber-initiative to counter the "lies of the opposition". ‘Boleh percaya kah, sama dia?’

By the way Chua, DAP is part of the Pakatan coalition. They fight for all Malaysians - Malays, Chinese, Indians, Ibans, Penans - you name it. They don't fight just for the Chinese. So don't use their name in your efforts to make the MCA appear more relevant.

Atheist:

Atta boy, Chua. Show Ibrahim Ali and Hishammuddin Hussein that MCA is trying to come to its senses and to represent the Chinese. Your earlier statement that "Otherwise, not only will the MCA lose the Chinese community's support, but it will not be able to justify its political existence," has already been fulfilled. Still, there's no harm in clutching at straws.

Not Confused:

Chua has at last opened his mouth to try and recover the MCA's position in the eyes of the rakyat. Unfortunately it is far, far too late. MCA has been totally subservient to Umno, and will forever be seen to be so. Time for MCA to either leave the BN coalition and join Pakatan, or just whither away and die slowly.

Swipenter:

In the first place, if Umno has not forsaken the true meaning of partnership and marginalised all the other component parties, BN would hardly ever be threatened with implosion. The hegemonic tendencies of Umno is so complete, blatant and galling that it left its major partners, MCA, MIC and Gerakan fighting for their survival since March 8, 2008.

Even until today Umno is still in denial that it is largely responsible for the sorry state of its partners in BN and the mess they’ve created for the country with declining economic competitiveness, racism, religious bigotry and intolerance, a failing education system, massive corruption and wastage, cronyism, nepotism, a bastardised and impotent judiciary, a partial police force, etc.

MCA, it may be too little too late for you to stand up to Umno's hegemony, but we appreciate your gesture anyhow.

SayaAnakBangsaMalaysia:

Wow...sounds like a rare outbreak of courage and reason from MCA. Don't worry, it's a mild case. Just take two Panadols and lie down. You'll get over it by tomorrow and be back to your spineless and irrelevant selves again in no time.

Tourism DG, ex-Pempena execs charged with CBT

Aku"Pun"Melayu:

While most of us stuck for hours on the road for ‘balik kampung’, this guy Mirza Mohammad Taiyyab is going to Melbourne for a family reunion? Better investigate the whole family.

Yuvan: A number of 'big fishes' are still freely swimming and enjoying their lives. Catch and charge them first. Only then will the people begin to believe that the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission really exists and doing its work without fear and favour.

Anonymous:

According to a MACC complaints form in 2009, the agency had information that officers of Pempena had received a bribe from Ummi Hafilda Ali for concert sponsorship of RM300,000. Then the MACC should also have acted against Ummi Hafilda.

MyGosh:

I thought giving a bribe was also a crime. So why is our "Monica Lewinsky" not charged? MACC and AG, would you please explain?

Isana: ‘Ikan bilis’, or anchovies, are a family ( engraulidae ) of small, common salt-water forage fish. Anchovies are usually classified as an oily fish. There are about 140 species in 16 genera, found in the Atlantic, Indian, Pacific Oceans and inland Malaysia. The Malaysian anchovies are now very popular target for the Malaysian Anglers Community Club, or MACC.
