The Selangor DAP imbroglio over the abuse of state documents has deepened following a police report lodged by Ronnie Liu, who is Selangor executive councillor.

Immediately after lodging a police report today, Liu had his statements recorded by the Selangor Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) at the state police contingent headquarters.

Liu, who was quizzed as a witness, spent four hours giving his statement on the alleged misuse of his letterhead and official seal.

NONE He was the first to exit the CCID office today and expressed his 'full confidence' in the police.

Accompanied by lawyer V Ganabatirau, Liu said that he was asked on four other police reports lodged on the alleged misuse of his letterhead and seal.

One report was filed by Liu earlier while two reports were lodged by MCA leaders from Kapar and Klang and another by an unidentified person.

At 2pm, Klang municipal councillor Tee Boon Hock was also at same building where his statement was being recorded according to Selangor CCID chief ACP Chong Mun Phing.

Tee left after spending five hours having his statement recorded. He said he had received a call from the CCID this morning requesting him to come over for his statement to be recorded.

Signature 'not mine'

Tee said that he submitted seven documents and among them were several letters of support for contracts with the letterhead in question.

"I have faith in the police [...]  let them investigate," said Tee, refusing to comment any further.

In his police report, Liu had alleged that his letterhead and official seal had been misused to issue letters of support for various contracts. 

"I’m not sure how many of such letters have been issued with my seal and letterhead [...] I want the police to investigate immediately.

"I have three of such letters with me now,” Liu told reporters at the police headquarters this morning.

Liu replied in the negative when asked if his signature was on the letters.

“It’s not mine and I don’t know whose it is,” he said.

Liu's letterhead and seal had reportedly been used by Tee to issue letters of support to some 15 companies for contracts worth more than RM1.04 million.

Tee was expelled from the party after it was found that one of the companies has connections to his son.

'There may be more'

"About a month ago, some letters of support were sent to my 15th floor office at the Selangor state secretariat by some unidentified person," stated Liu in his police report.

"I hereby disclose the letters of support to be investigated. All the letters were issued without my permission and knowledge.

"I have not empowered or authorised anyone to issue such letters on my behalf. I fear they may be more letters of such nature."

NONE Liu said he decided to lodge the police report because Tee (right) , at the last minute, had alleged that he was instructed to issue the letters on his behalf.

Liu refused to divulge to whom the letters were given to saying that he will reveal the contents if the police allow it.

He also said he has been called to appear before DAP’s disciplinary committee following Tee's accusation.

"I intend to give my full cooperation," said Liu.
