A laptop belonging to senior counsel Manjeet Singh Dhillion was stolen from his house in Kuala Lumpur today following a break-in and the lawyer believes him representing controversial private investigator P Balasubramaniam is the cause.

"I have just been informed that my house in Kuala Lumpur has been broken into and the main item targeted and removed is my laptop.

Manjeet ( right ) is currently in London to advise Bala following indications by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) that its officers would fly to London to interview Bala regarding two statutory declarations he made concerning Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and murdered Mongolian national Altantuya Shariibuu.

The MACC, however, later backtracked and said they would e-mail their questions to Bala’s lawyers in London.

French investigators, meanwhile, have taken the opportunity to quiz Bala for their ongoing corruption probe into the Malaysian defence ministry’ purchase of two French submarines.

Attempt to ‘fabricate material’

Emerging in London and in public for the first time since he left Malaysia two years ago, Bala has also held press conferences extrapolating further his role in the Najib-Altantuya imbroglio.

Apart from Manjeet, he is also being represented by lawyers Amarjit Singh and Americk Sidhu.

Manjeet has expressed concern that his stolen laptop may be used to fabricate material.

NONE "I have serious concerns that attempts might be made by interested parties to interfere with the contents of my laptop and fabricate material."

There have been previous incidents believed to have been due to Manjeet and his professional representation of Bala.

On Nov 18 last year, several Molotov cocktails were thrown into the Damansara Heights home of the prominent lawyer in what was believed to be related to Bala’s 'interviews' aired on YouTube.

Manjeet was then quoted as saying the incident may be a ‘warning and threat’ to him and his family over his presence at the YouTube recordings of the interviews with Bala.
