Faizal Abdullah, the new CEO of Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) turnkey contractor Kuala Dimensi Sdn Bhd (KDSB), today denied that the company has outstanding taxes of RM328.4 million.

Faizal, who has just assumed the post from Tiong King Sing, described the Inland Revenue Board’s (IRB) allegations as “ gila ” (crazy).

NONE “Please quote me, this figure is absurd,” Faizal ( left ) said when contacted by Malaysiakini today, while suggesting that the IRB must have made a mistake.

Faizal stressed that KDSB always clears its debts on time and challenged the IRB to initiate legal action against the company to claim the monies.

“Go to court. If they want to sue us, come to the court lah! But we will tell the truth to the judge.”

The federal government today stated its commitment towards paying PKFZ bondholders RM722 million through the Port Klang Authority (PKA).

However, in a circular last week, IRB has ordered PKA to stop payments to PKFZ bondholders and instead remit RM328.4 million, allegedly owed by KDSB in outstanding taxes .

Tiong no longer CEO, but still owner

Asked about the government plans to pay bondholders, Faizal declined to comment.

NONE Meanwhile, Faizal confirmed that Tiong ( right ) had resigned as the KDSB chief executive officer one or two months ago.

“He did inform the board of directors about his reasons, but it is not necessary to make it public,” he said.

Tiong is also Bintulu MP and BN parliamentary backbenchers club chairperson.

Checks with the Companies Commission of Malaysia revealed that Tiong is still the majority owner of KDSB, by virtue of being the 64 percent owner of KDSB's parent company Wijaya Baru Holdings Sdn Bhd.

Asked about his plans as the new KDSB boss, Faizal quipped that he hopes to win all court cases involving his company and PKFZ.

“We need to win all the cases in court. We don’t want people to think that KDSB is the company behind PKFZ’s failures,” he said.
