Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin has today hinted that there would be another major defection from PKR tomorrow.

"Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) has reached a critical stage because now it has become Parti Kian Runtuh (collapsing party). Tomorrow there will another major announcement in Hulu Selangor.

However, he did not provide any hints as to what it would be and which PKR leader will join the latest spate of defections.

Muhyiddin was refering to the resignation of top leaders in the Shah Alam PKR Youth wing today to protest against Zaid Ibrahim being picked as the party candidate for the Hulu Selangor by-election.

Youth chief Nor'isham Manap and his deputy Muhamad Ali Mukhtar had both quit the party, along with a number of other wing's leaders.

There have been speculations that Wee Choo Keong is among those waiting to quit PKR.

Muhyiddin also hit out at Anwar Ibrahim, calling the opposition leader a "spin king".

He said Anwar, who was a good orator, was very fond of twisting issues involving the government and BN leaders.

This, Muhyiddin said, caused people to believe in Anwar and support opposition parties because they were not aware that they were being lied to.

"Now, he (Anwar) says we (BN) are a cruel regime, but when he was the deputy prime minister, he asked the people to support the BN. If his claims were true, the country would be in a bad shape. If someone says the BN government is cruel, it is a big lie," he.

Batang Kali comes under the Hulu Selangor parliamentary constituency which will be witnessing a by-election on April 25.

‘They have evil intentions’

 

Muhyiddin said politics was not "games" like what the opposition was thinking but a serious matter concerning the wellbeing of the people.

"They have evil intentions. They like to twist issues, Everything is not right to them, but the truth is that they are the real problem. We do not make wild allegations. Their heart is full of hatred," he said.

The deputy prime minister admitted that the government had weaknesses but as leaders they were taking steps to overcome any shortcomings.

He also slammed Selangor Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim who he said did not fulfill promises made to the people despite two years in power.
