PKR Hulu Selangor Zaid Ibrahim candidate today used the character assassination attempt against him to expose BN's hypocrisy.

Zaid in Kerling, where he turned the liquor thing into a good thing 180410 "I am not like (Umno leaders). They are hypocrites," he told reporters non-chalantly after meeting with the residents of an Indian estate village in Kerling today.

Yesterday, Zaid confessed to reporters that he did indeed consume alcohol, as alleged by BN in their campaign, but only in his younger days, and that he has now repented.

He added that if the voters of Hulu Selangor want to punish him for being sincere and honest, then he will accept the decision.

He noted that his 'immorality' did not stop BN from fielding him as a candidate, and appointing him as law minister.

Zaid also remained defiant in the face of the attacks, challenging BN and coalition chairperson to "continue with the exposes" as he may have forgotten many things which he had done in his youth.

NONE Asked if he would play the same game and speak about the vices of his former party-mates, he said that he had a "better pedigree than that".

"So those in the Cabinet need not worry," he quipped.

In its bid to win over the Muslim-Malay community making up the majority of the semi-rural Hulu Selangor voters, BN's campaign against Zaid and PKR has mainly taken the form of personal attacks against the character of its leaders .
