Why Anwar charged, but not Chua?

Chua confirms vying for for No 1

Oil Man: If Chua Soi Lek wins, then MCA will totally be under Umno's control because Chua will have to behave, otherwise he can be charged for his oral sex episode. How can he make any decisions that Umno disapproves when he knows he will go to jail if he does not do as instructed by his masters, who control the police, the Attorney-General's Chambers and the judiciary?

All MCA delegates should bear this in mind. While I think Chua is intellectually superior and has good leadership qualities, he cannot and must not be elected MCA president. It will be a disaster of the first order if he wins - MCA will be completely a compliant lapdog to Umno.

Habib RAK: Chua Soi Lek (CSL) has committed a crime which is the same as the charge that is preferred on Anwar Ibrahim. At least in the case of Anwar, he was alleged to have committed unnatural sex, but in the case of CSL, he has admitted to having unnatural sex. Yes, having oral sex, or a blowjob, is classified as unnatural sex in our Penal Code.

Gk: Let us hope for either CSL or OKT (Ong Ka Ting) win for all I care, and we shall see MCA completely buried from there on. After all, the rakyat is in favour of multiracial politics. If OTK (Ong Tee Keat) is really a good guy, he can still fight outside BN, of course, not on a racist platform, but in the interest of all rakyat, and not just for yourself and the Chinese.

Multi Racial: Ong Ka Ting was the reason why the the corruption in PKFZ continued without been exposed. He was the leader who will do whatever it takes to keep himself in power. Chua is a fighter but unfortunately, he was caught on video with his pants down. He cannot be an effective leader because of his past record. I rather he retires from politics for good.

Ong Tee Kiat was a good leader who happened to do the right thing wrongly. At least, he realises this now and I am prepare to give him a chance. Besides, he is the only credible leader among the three.

Liow is a Brutus. This guy cannot be trusted. Kong Cho Ha is useless. He did not take a stand when his boss was down and was being attacked. I don't trust such people. So for the president's post, my vote go for Ong Tee Kiat. As for deputy, can someone better file their nomination as I don't like the other two candidates?

Malaysiaboleh: Just a question that I hope CSL will address - did you ever think what will happen when you win? You may be the smartest among the three candidates, but did you ever think of how to handle the issue when the whole world talks about a Chinese Malaysian ex-minister leading MCA while his sex DVD is available worldwide?

MCA polls: Liow to run for deputy president

Dingy: MCA delegates will have to make a decision to elect either a bold but unpopular OTK or Umno lapdog OKT.

If OKT is elected, then the post of transport minister will go to WKS (Wee Ka Siong), and the PKFZ scandal will be forgotten and all the accused will be let off. Tiong (King Sing) will definitely donate more money to MCA. But the rakyat will be waiting to bury MCA for good in the next GE (general election).

Lim Chong Leong: If Liow wins his deputy post, the president will have no time to handle his presidential and ministerial affairs because he will constantly need to look over his shoulder for the backstabbing Brutus.

Doc: I heard a joke going around the Ministry of Health (MOH) recently. There is a medical conference in the middle of this year and the health minister is suppose to officiate the event. The only problem is the MOH staff have no idea who will be the minister at that time.

Bold reforms needed to reach high-income status: group

Maroondah: The most important underlying factor in creating a high-income society is ‘value adding'. Value adding can be in the form of specialty skills - for example, technology, design, artistic input, etc - and superb infrastructure that allows for high quality services to be rendered.

When a country's workforce can deliver value-added services, it need not compete on low-cost manufacturing capabilities. But such value-adding capabilities of a nation is built not in a day or a month, but many years of careful planning and hard work.

It's certainly no rocket science but nations such as Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Hong Kong and Singapore have achieved what we call "high income society" using this simple formula with all of them bearing the same attributes - superb infrastructure (physical and information technology) and a well-trained workforce.

It's not too late for Malaysia to do so if only we can stop the political squabbling...

Gibran: Let us begin with locally-owned SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) giving fair wages to our workers, complying with international working conditions and learning how to be innovative and globally competitive.

Let's not rely on quasi slave-like imported labour and cry that locals are not willing to work. Bosses, please make the sacrifice, and work your plans to stay competitive in a high-wage environment and to operate efficiently.

Kgen: Will the government listen to Perkasa or the voice of experts like Koong? It looks like Perkasa already has an effect on the NEM (New Economic Model) by delaying it. The next thing is implementation. The NEP (New Economic Policy) was supposed to have ended in 1990 but in spirit it has been extended to today.

If there is no political will, calling it NDP (New Development Policy) or NEM makes no difference when it is really NEP in disguise.
