A police report has been lodged against Second Finance Minister Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah for allegedly uttering racially inflammatory remarks.

ahmad husni hanadzlah The report was lodged by Komtar assemblyperson Ng Wei Aik at Jalan Patani police station in Penang today.

According to the police report, Husni ( left ) made the remark during a dinner organised by the Penang Malay Chamber of Commerce at a hotel on March 5.

"He said 'If the Penang Chinese bullies us, we will retaliate against the Chinese'. This statement, by a Barisan Nasional and Umno politician is very irresponsible which attempts to fan racial sentiments and is inaccurate," read the report.

A recording of Husni's speech was also appended to the police report.

Speaking to reporters later, Ng said Penang police chief Ayub Yaakob was a guest at the dinner and is thus an important witness in the case.

"We want the police to explain why their personnel will lodge police reports against Pakatan Rakyat elected representatives, but not Ahmad Husni. Isn't this double standards?" he asked.

Ng was referring to the slew of police reports against Penang chief minister Lim Guan Eng and other Pakatan elected representatives for illegal assembly and alleged sedition.

Most investigations were initiated after police reports lodged by the police themselves.
