People Progressive Party's sacked vice president T Murugiah claimed that the party's president M Kayveas and his supporters are circulating false and malicious text messages against him.

NONE The messages are directed to supporters of Murugiah ( right ) to convince them to shift their allegiance to Kayveas.

In addition, there were rumours circulating that Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak had ordered Murugiah to resign today.

Murugiah claimed that many of his present members were offered money to return to Kayveas’ faction.

"I have yet to lodge a police report on this anonymous SMS but may do so after consulting my lawyer," he said in Kuala Lumpur this afternoon.

He said this 'dirty trick' is being used to in conjunction with a court judgement that would decide the rightful party president on Mar 1.

 Ellan Govan returns to PPP

Meanwhile former People’s Progressive Party (PPP) Youth chief R Ellan Govan announced that he is returning to the PPP fold along with 20 supporters, and will now support Kayveas.  

        

A former supporter of Murugiah , Ellan said, "The platform provided for me was not good enough to serve the rakyat."

kayveas hq pc 050609 He announced his return to PPP at a press conference in Kuala Lumpur this morning at the same venue where Murugiah met the reporters.

Murugiah supporters from six states are also expected to follow Ellan’s lead.

He also withdrew two police reports lodged against Kayveas ( left ), made at Brickfields police station last year.

The reports were made asking police to conduct an investigation over an alleged personal attack on Murugiah by Kayveas.
