'Why can't our leaders accept constructive criticism so that they may learn something and improve themselves? How is our country to grow then?'
PERC 'talking through its nose': Muhyiddin
Rayfire: I am curious. Why is it that those in power jump up and down (negatively) at every constructive view given on the economic and political outlook of this country, especially by foreign independent reviewers of high credibility?
Unlike those in power here, they have no vested interest in their reports other than helping their potential clients decide on their investment strategies. That is their core business and I don't think they will report falsely as it may affect their livelihoods. Please look at it subjectively and analyse the given views to see if there is any truth to them.
I won't blame them if they are critical about their views of this nation's outlook because that is what is portrayed thanks to the mishandling and misappropriation of public money by the various ministries.
Careless and sometimes contradictory handling of issues affecting the nation are also contributing to such a perception. So don't blame them. After 52 years in power, BN has yet to really understand what this nation needs to succeed.
Lucia: Denials, denials, denials. So what else is new? Anything negative, and our leaders will always deny it. Not only that but they attack the person or group too. Why can't they accept constructive criticism so that they may learn something and improve themselves? How is our country to grow then?
A good leader must learn to accept all views, even negative ones. But then again, since when did we have good leaders in the Umno government?
Ong: This Muhyiddin Yassin fellow is a funny guy. He says: ‘I don't think we need to react to all these nonsensical reports' whilst at the same time reacting in a very emotional manner to ‘these nonsensical reports'!
Court frees five prominent Pakatan MPs
Jbss: The government's conscience would prick them if they had dared to pursue the charges. For double standards, that is - one standard for Umno and another for Pakatan Rakyat. Look at the non-enforcement of the law regarding protests by Umno and their supporters.
They have no credibility in the eyes of the rakyat. They practise selective law enforcement on different classes of Malaysians.
Karma: The police have allowed illegal assemblies in Georgetown and they are going to allow more illegal assemblies because the Sedaq group said they would hold more illegal assemblies and burn the chief minister's effigy until the chief minister gives in to the demand of the illegal stall-holders.
Sedaq is aware that they will not be caught by the police for causing unrest and traffic jams in Penang. They can hold the CM to ransom. If the CM gives in to their demands, this will be a victory for them. Who taught them this?
Anwar's trial a severe test for Malaysia
Mandy Lee: If Anwar Ibrahim were to be jailed again it would mean that the wake-up call we had given to the government at the last general election has merely meant nothing. They will only talk, talk, talk. Nothing will be done.
You know what? I would rather risk having the opposition run the government rather than putting hopes on BN which for a number of times has made us feel like idiots. A ‘1Malaysia' with racist speeches?
Maroondah: What ‘1Malaysia' are they talking about? After Nasir Safar's infamous ‘Indians are beggars and Chinese are prostitutes' statement, do you think we have many supporters for ‘1Malaysia'? And what about the ‘Allah' issue and how badly it was handled?
Perak: 'Three years not a long wait'
Inspektor Klueso: The Pakatan Rakyat coalition governments in Kedah, Selangor and Penang should dissolve their assemblies and call for snap elections. This is to get rid of all the self- interested ‘frogs' (to be) and to get rid of the one-track mind candidates who are totally focused on religion.
It will also demonstrate once and for all to the nation who the rakyat wants to be in government.
Then good governance can finally be effected without any sabotaging.
With any luck, when 13 th general election arrives, the rakyat will open their eyes wide and overthrow the tyranny that's been stifling the nation's growth all these years. Most importantly, the citizenry can live in freedom and transparency without fear - something we all deserve in this day and age.
No Fool: Yes, move on. It's better to act like a wounded tiger that has been trapped, but has managed to free itself. Recoup and plan to recover the state in the next general election.
The rakyat know that you have been unconstitutionally usurped by an illegitimate government and their sympathy is with you. Your day in the people's court will come.
