Tomorrow is the judgment day of two menteri besar in Perak - Zambry Abdul Kadir and Mohd Nizar Jamaluddin - when the nation's apex court decides who is the rightful one to lead the state government.

With the hope that the federal court - widely seen as pro-establishment - will reach a favourable ruling, Pakatan Rakyat has mobilised ten buses for supporters from Perak to flood the Palace of Justice at Putrajaya to hear the outcome.

azlan On the other hand, the one-year old BN Perak government is only sending their state executive councillors to attend the hearing.

Zambry, seemingly unfazed by the looming uncertainty, will not be present in the courtroom to hear his own fate but has said that he will continue to attend official functions in Ipoh as the BN-appointed Perak menteri besar.

PKR Perak Deputy Chairperson Chang Lih Kang told Malaysiakini that the three parties under the coalition had rented ten buses to ferry around 400 supporters from Ipoh to Putrajaya early tomorrow morning.

Nizar, several Pakatan Perak state executive councillors and their supporters will also be driving down to Putrajaya. The remaining Pakatan state executive councillors will remain in Ipoh if in case they need to be mobilised should the decision be in favour of Pakatan.

On the BN side, state executive councillor Mah Hang Soon said BN had no plans to mobilise their supporters but would only send several state cabinet members to Putrajaya.

 

BN may strike?

Although in Kuala Lumpur, he said Zambry would not be be at the Palace of Justice ( below ) tomorrow as he would be attending official functions in his capacity as Perak menteri besar. This includes the menteri besar and chief ministers meeting to be chaired by Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.

Zambry has a private function in the afternoon and on Wednesday palace of justice 260207 04 he accompanies the Sultan of Perak to the two-day Council of Malay Rulers meeting at Istana Negara.

According to Chang, Nizar and the top Pakatan leadership will seek an audience with the Perak Sultan as soon as possible if the court ruling is in their favour.

He conceded, however, that the audience may not be granted immediately as the sultan would be in Kuala Lumpur attending the Council of Malay Rulers meeting which will only end on Thursday.

He added that an immediate audience was necessary as Pakatan was worried that BN - with their three-seat majority - could seize the opportunity to call for an emergency state assembly meeting to move a vote of no-confidence motion against Nizar
