'Are things still under control? Let me guess, these are ‘isolated events' or the ‘work of naughty boys'?'
Stones thrown at Sikh temple in Sentul
Victor Johan: Soon the 'terrorists' will ask for the Sikhs to stop reading their holy book as well, and the Hindus to stop singing prayer songs and hymns that contain ‘Allah' and its equivalent.
I wonder if the home minister is warming up to declaring emergency rule for fear of losing the next general election. Our country's economy has gone down the tubes, thanks to these two cousins (Najib Razak and Hishammuddin Hussein) and their Umno cronies and the whole system that runs it.
Instead of governing the country, the cronies are amassing their wealth. They are already transferring monies in preparation for any untoward incidents. And they think the rakyat masih bodoh (still stupid).
Doc: So Hishammuddin, are things still under control ? Let me guess, these are 'isolated' events or the 'work of naughty boys' .
Biro: If you think about it carefully, all this nonsense that is happening in our country is actually the evil indoctrination of the Biro Tata Negara (BTN) and the Umno-led racist regime. It's that simple.
Break temples, burn churches, don't give jobs to Chinese and Indians in the government, don't give promotions to them, don't give them scholarships, don't give them loans, just keep suppressing them, divide the Muslims and non-Muslims in primary schools. Then they will finally migrate and this will be the land of the Malays only.
This is the grand plan of BTN and Umno. Wake up MCA, MIC, Gerakan, PPP. Are you blind? You are just a mural in the showcase to show the world that we are multi-racial so that Malaysia can get foreign investments.
SRR: The Muslims are not realising that this controversy could be used as an opportunity to bring the non-Muslims closer to Islam. Now that the non-Muslims accept the fact that all these religions are praying to the same God, this would be the first steps in introducing the Islamic philosophy to the non-Muslims.
But the Muslims need to also be open to the philosophy of Christianity, Sikhism, Judaism and what not in a humble manner without holding a superior position, and minus the delusion of grandeur. They don't have to accept what the non-Muslims have to say if they don't want to, but the least they could do is to listen.
Empathise. The long and interesting process of exchanging thoughts and having matured and intellectual dialogues without going crazy and murderous would win more hearts and minds of the people either way. But the doors are always violently shut closed whenever such opportunity arises as they regard such opportunities as a threat instead.
Narrish: There can only be one understanding of Islam. When elsewhere Muslim people don't have this issue, how come in Malaysia alone, this issue comes up? It shows lack of understanding. Islam negates belief in idols. Has the word ‘Allah' become idolised? Lack of understanding caused this problem. Educate people, it's as simple as that.
Habib RAK: Umno/Barisan Nasional, you cannot hold a wet thread up straight. Allah is for all. Period. Stop being in silly denial. By the way, don't mess with the Sikhs. Believe me, you don't want to know why.
Hishammuddin: More investigation before arrests made
Chee Hoe Siew: It is really funny that he can point the fingers to PKR leader Anwar Ibrahim and yet can't find the one who threw the bombs. How does the conclusion come about? Did some little bird just chip in to his ears that Anwar did it?
P Dev Anand Pillai: Dear home minister, having the powers of all our restrictive laws in your hands, it would be wise to be a thinking home minister who would be able to lead the country and all its inhabitants, regardless of race and religion, to greater heights instead of asking ridiculous questions which you know the answers to.
The moment you decide to remove the divide-and-rule policy and discard the social and political barriers that the Malays have been subject to and allow them to thrive instead of thinking for them, you will achieve unity.
The non-Malays know that any form of retaliation will only allow you to achieve your agenda and as such they await for their response via the ballot box. If you aspire to be the next PM, show us that you can be different. You will see the response from the public after that.
Until then, the threats and show of might which the people have seen far too many times is not going to help.
Hisham repeats threat to use ISA against troublemakers
Tan Kian Khim: How amusing, the rabid, keris-wielding 'cow-head' home minister is attempting to bring under control racial-religious tensions that he himself had play no small part in inflaming. The crows have come home to roost for Hishammuddin and Umno-BN - all those years of race-religious agitation have finally come to 'fruition'.
BP low: Let's see if my prediction is true:
1) Bloggers or critics on this issue will be hauled up or even detained for fanning ‘unhappiness' over this issue.
2) The culprits will not be detained because ‘there are too many suspects' and nobody can ‘confirm who are the real culprits.
I pray to whoever is ‘up there' that I am wrong.
Ong Guan Sin: This is an utter act of desperation for a seriously incompetent minister whose political future is in doubt now. I'm sick and tired of being told things are a matter of national security only as an excuse for incompetence when it's his own party's incitement that is the root cause of our national security concern.
Amaso : Dear Kerismuddin, please don't issue any more warnings, just arrest the suspects under ISA for the sake of national security as you have already given ample warnings in the past. In contrast, the candlelight vigil participants who had committed no crime were arrested without warning. I am beginning to believe what others have been saying - 1Malaysia, 2Standards.
The fact is that the government is playing with fire that would eventually engulf it in flames. You sow durian seeds, you get durian. You sow seeds of hatred, you lose everything.
