130党团联合文告谴责焚烧教堂<br>轰当权者双重标准导致局势恶化

130个来自不同宗教、文化与意识形态的民间组织与反对党,今日发表联合声明谴责过去两天发生的纵火焚烧教堂行径,疾呼“马来西亚不会向暴力低头”!

约20名代表今日在隆雪华堂召开记者会发表这份联合声明,表达他们对3间遭凶徒企图纵火的教堂(第4间教堂纵火案今日才发生),以及国内基督社群的支持。

纵火暴力行径如同恐怖主义

他们表示,有关的煽动性暴力行径形同恐怖主义,是绝对不被允许的。

“不过这样的暴力行径不应被视为回教堂与基督社群之间的冲突,因为它同时羞辱了回教与基督教。”

“在我们享有言论自由的当儿,不应举办示威来恐吓持有不同意见的人士。”

他们说,这些暴力行为不仅打击大马一直以来提倡的和谐多元社会形象,更是对法治精神的攻击,因为司法制度必须无时无刻在不受威胁的情况下伸张正义。

利用宗教情绪达致政治利益

声明也谴责那些为了政治利益不惜利用种族宗教情绪的人士,并指当权者的双重标准是导致局势进一步恶化的原因之一。

“我们感到非常遗憾,他们在部分主流与非主流媒体的协助下,通过展示本身的不满来推动他们的议程,却掩饰了真正课题,即宪法所保障的言论权利与宗教自由。”

纳吉形象或与恐怖主义挂钩

另外,他们促请警方以高度专业精神追查行凶者,将凶徒绳之以法,否则纳吉政权的形象和‘一个马来西亚’的口号,将与暴力和恐怖主义挂钩。

反对以内安法令扣留嫌犯

不过,他们反对当局以允许无审讯扣留的内安法令对付凶徒,“嫌犯必须被空上公开法庭,以否决他们野蛮的行为”。

此外,声明呼吁持有不同意见的各造通过理性对话来达致共识。

“在一个民主社会里,没有什么课题是敏感至无法理性讨论的,暴力威胁不应扼杀民主辩论。”

联署的5个反对党是人民公正党、民主行动党、回教党、社会主义党以及人权党。另外联署的119个非政府组织如下:
