Dr M, you're right - 'Umno is racist'

vox populi small thumbnail 'Not only Umno but also MIC and MCA are racist parties because only Indians and the Chinese can join and not others. Therefore, all these parties must be abolished and a new one be created.'

You belong to a racist party: Dr M to Nazri

KayKay: Dr Mahathir Mohamad says Umno is a racist party. He should know. He is a racist and was a racist prime minister. What is a racist? A racist is not one who stands up for a place in the sun for all.

A racist is a person who denies another his place in the sun. That's why Hindraf rightly identified Mahathir as a racist and Umno, the racist party, as public enemy No 1 of the Indian community.

DC: Dr Mahathir you are right. Not only Umno but also MIC and MCA are racist parties because only Indians and the Chinese can join and not others. Therefore, all these parties must be abolished and a new one be created.

But I understand that you, Dr M, had a tough time joining Umno. Your dad may would not have been a member at all.

Prof Rahman: It is all very well said. Yes, Umno is certainly a truly racist party. Malaysians are smart people, they knew the true colours of Umno a long time ago. Similarly for the other founding members of BN, ie, MCA and MIC. They are all racists.

It is indeed high time for all Malaysians to stand up together in unity and fight against the racist BN. Umno/BN are on the brink of collapse and death. It's time to stand united behind Pakatan Rakyat, with Tok Guru as the chairperson cum adviser. It's time to change the political landscape of Malaysia. It is now or never.

Overpriced hospital, another public fund 'sink hole'

Tan Kian Khim: Let's summarise this: A huge, taxpayer-funded public hospital project is awarded (at 50%-60% above industry cost estimates) to a shell company (presumably without tender) which has no track record or experience in healthcare construction, which then immediately 'flips' the project on to another construction company because it never had the capability to build the hospital in the first place.

The shell company then continues to ‘parasitise' the sub-contractors throughout the contract period, causing the first subpcontractor to fail, and continues to ‘parasitise' the new sub-contractor brought in to bail out the project.

Well, if this doesn't warrant a MACC investigation, I don't know what does. But then MACC has about the same credibility as Robert Mugabe claiming he wants 'free and fair elections' in Zimbabwe.

Powerful: Powerful revelations to point out the hard fact of royal involvement but this is hardly surprising. Umno and BN are corrupt to the core and the worst of all are all their bigwigs. Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's ‘1Malaysia' is years too late. Get them all out at the next elections, I say.

Doc: ' Projek Kerajaan Barisan Nasional' - does it mean building the hospital or draining the rakyat's money for BN's use?

Ooi Siew Geok: It seems that all our royalty are now all involved in businesses given by the BN government. No wonder they are now under the control of BN. No wonder, the Umno-led government can do whatever they want. We must ensure that there is a change in the government come the next election.

Paul Warren: Serves the sub-contractors right. Just because you want that the main contractors to be royalty, or cronies, or ‘Datuk' or ‘Tan Sri', the real companies that can do the job should stay away even if there is money to be made. This is but greed.

So serves you guys right. As long as there are suckers like these companies around, these ‘royal' and crony companies will abound.

Break shackles of racism, free the civil service

Ex Civil Servant: Speaking as an ex-civil servant, I can confidently say that what has been said by P Uthayakumar is absolutely correct.

Check out the Land Office. You will find that the ‘office boys' (peons) and gardeners are Indians together with a sprinkling of clerks. The teaching profession is no better. Non-Malay teachers have to fight for their rights and hope to get a place. The list goes on.

Mr KJ John: Allow me to also recognise the passing of two prominent Indian Malaysian public servants recently. Sadly, but truly, since the 1969, when Public Services Department (PSD) took over from Public Services Commission (SPA) under ‘Operasi Isi Penuh', the willful gerrymandering of the Reid and Cobbold Commission numbers of at least 20% non-Malays in the public service has been abused.

This is a fact no one can deny. Similarly, when I went into the Royal Military College, there were at least 30% non-Malays there but now I am not sure if it is even one percent. There is a conscious activation of the 'Ketuanan Melayu' agenda by Umno. Can anyone deny it, please?

Concern Citizen: This was a well-planned agenda to wipe out the Indians from the civil service. Fifty percent to one percent. I made it. But the losers are the Indians and guess who is helping to achieve the 1% target in the civil service.?

It is S Samy Velu, the so-called Indian representative who for the past 30 years has not been asking or fighting for our rights. What kind of leader is he?

Sabah PKR rebels deny about-turn on new party

KayKay: The best thing for Jeffrey Kitingan to do is to incorporate Sabah PKR and Sarawak PKR locally. This can be followed by a Borneo Pakatan Rakyat incorporated locally. Alternatively, Jeffrey should return to PBS and get it to work for Sabah rights. He could also make overtures to Sapp.

Jeffrey does not seem to be particular about which party he joins as long as he can get it to adopt his Sabah rights platform. The moment a party ditches his platform, he tries to take over the party and if that fails, he leaves. This has been the story of Jeffrey in politics.

It would be better ultimately for the ROS to let him have his own party. He did try to form his own political party in 1994 but the application was not approved. Maybe the ROS does not want any political party to fight for Sabah rights. This is against the Malaysia Agreement.

No wonder Jeffrey formed his CIG, the Common Interest Group, an apolitical movement to cut across party lines and work for Sabah rights. CIG comes across as a Borneo version of Hindraf.

Paola: Jeffrey, actually, what's your exact vision and mission? You seem to have a major problem in deciding what's the best thing for yourself. Come on, hopping from party this and that won't help to settle things down.
