‘The judges are duty-bound, they have to do what they are supposed to do. If they breach any of the conditions they learnt during their boot camps, they will be transfer out or penalised.’
Court throws out Anwar's suit against Dr M
Goh Seng Geap: The court is Umno’s court. Anwar Ibrahim is the ‘opposition’. The judges are duty-bound, they have to do what they are supposed to do.
If the judges breach any of the conditions they learnt during their boot camps, they will be transfer out or penalised.
Anaz Ahmad Tajuddin:
I thought objection on technicalities in court have long been discarded.More so when there is no prejudice befallen on Dr Mahathir Mohamad even if the court continues hearing the merits.
The court should be more concerned on dispensing justice. But now what happens?
When it comes to Umno and the ruling government, the technical objection is still entertained by the court. How interesting.
Leong Seng Kheong:
Hope we are not going back to the dark days when the 'sovereign dark lord' ruled with an iron fist. It would be a real shame.
Ong Joo Theam:
Surely the purpose of the court is to see that justice is done and not that technicalities that of no material bearing on the case are allowed?Couldn't the judge have presented the document for counsel to sign right there and then, and required that a translation be furnished within twenty-four hours?
Now the court's time will be taken up yet again for a future appeal - what a waste of money and resources.
Gk: VK Lingam is still in practice? What other cases is he handling now? I almost forgot about the Lingam tape royal commission of inquiry. Malaysians mudah lupa?
KayKay:
This just a technicality thanks to the stupidity of Anwar Ibrahim’s lawyers. The court should be faulted too for throwing out the case instead of advising Anwar's lawyers to amend their statement of claim.
Anwar's lawyers should be kicked out and his new legal team should give notice that they intend to re-file.
Say Yap:
I thought Dr Mahathir Mohamad said he doesn't know VK Lingam!
Yobama:
What? A suit rejected based on a technicality? Didn’t Anwar Ibrahim’s lawyers know about the conditions required in a legal suit (not a dinner suit!)?And he didn't even sign the document? Where did he learn his law, I wonder.
This is a case of utter carelessness of the highest order and I am not even a lawyer ie, without a legal education although I did my education legally!
Doc: What else? Look who is representing Dr Mahathir Mohamad. None other than the notorious Mr Correct, correct, correct who could fixed the judges' appointment.
Anwar Ibrahim is simply wasting time and money pursuing the suit. Shameless fellows involved.
Greyhame:
Is that really VK Lingam or just someone who looks like him and sounds like him?Once again, evil triumphs over good.
However, I humbly wait for the day of reckoning. God bless Anwar Ibrahim and keep him safe always
Vincent Schoon:
If the plaintiff was Dr Mahathir, I wonder if the appeal judges would have considered otherwise by suggesting that he re-submit the appeal in Bahasa Malaysia. Disgraced judges.
Dood:
Wow! When BN sues or has the government machinery take action against Pakatan people or liberated Malaysians, even rumours, hearsay and innuendos can be taken as fact and things move extra fast. But when it's the other way around, even a ‘technicality’ is a fatal flaw that can be considered a basis for throwing the whole thing out.
