Football widow takes revenge

In another matter, a ‘football widow' has been remanded for five days for stabbing her husband for coming home late after watching the friendly match between Manchester United and the Malaysian team on Saturday night.

Her injured 26-year-old husband who was stabbed on the chest is being treated at Kuala Lumpur Hospital. He is said to be in stable condition.

Ampang Jaya police chief Abdul Jalil Hassan said the woman, in her 20's, was believed to be incensed when her husband broke his promise to return home immediately after the football match on Saturday, but arrived home at 2am (Sunday) instead.

She is remanded to assist in the police investigation under Section 326 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing grievous hurt with a dangerous weapon.

A ‘football widow' is a term used for those who pay more attention to the game than to their partner.

For the record, Malaysian national team was narrowly defeated 3-2 by the champions of England.
